I wanted to test out my traps to see what you could and could not do with them. Although I am not done testing, this is a few of the things that I found out. I am sure this is not new to most of you.
As a base: Master Ranger, Rifleman 4-1-3-2 Target: Fambaa, and lots of them.
Buffed, wearing a cheap/old helmet and legging(30%kin) , chest piece died after6 fambaas. Shooting Normal shots from a 408max T-21. About 480 traps used.

Note: I am normally unbuffed and unarmored, I also tried out a band new suit of comp.I got. My findings I hate buffs and I hate armor.
Traps not tested:
Sonic Pulse – Dizzy, as you know this is useless
Lecepanine Dart – see above
Wire Mesh Trap – I use range attacks
Glow-Juice Trap – Used the Glow-Wire trap
Stink Bomb – did not get to this one.
Sharp Bone Spur – did not get to this one.

Hit rate:
This was more about the traps and not the hit-rate. But, the hit rate with a trap seems to be one way or the other. I would hit five in a row then miss 5 in a row. Given the Fambaas’ high level I guess this is on par. I plan on getting some hard data on the later using a wall … I mean friend that is a TKM. And just throwing traps one after the other.

The tested Traps:
Adhesive Mesh – This of course stop a Fambaa like a brick wall. But the wall fell about 3 seconds later. I see no use for this because of stack size and resource cost. This and /burstrun work good but if you think you need to /burstrun you may be dead by the time you throw the trap.

Flash Bomb – Blind, in the numbers it seem like it did nothing. Also by its self it seemed like it did nothing. But if I keep him blinded and stunned I always had a few 100 life more at the end of the fight. I used about 3-4 flash bombs a Fambaa.
Noise Maker- Stun, the same report as Flash Bomb
Glow-Wire Trap – This was my favorite of the night. It would last almost until he was dead. I can hit anything at range but when a Fambaa is standing over you kicking you in the head with his big A** foot, I missed a lot. Throwing one of these made it all better. I almost never missed after using one of these.
Phecnacine Dart – This is my favoritenormally. Put him into a slow walk for a few sec. But in this test I found little use in it, being that I was Buffed and armored. If I could keep putting darts into him I could always stay just out side his range and kill him but if he had a friend of course the plan would fail. Also doing this used a large sum of PDarts. When your unbuffed and you want to save a little mind pool on that last 1k of there health Pdarts are great.
Over all findings the way I see it.
The Good:
*If your going to let a critter know your there, a Glow-Wire Trap is your friend no matter how you look at it.
*Adhesive Mesh and PDart is you friends if you are unbuffed and unarmor and he see you.
The Bad:
*If you areBuffed and Armored the only thing a trap is good for in a fight is something to do. (Other than maybe a Glow-Wire Trap)
*States from a trap some times do not last as long as it takes to throw one. Ok maybe they last a little longer but not much.
*When you’re in a buffed group the best thing to do is just, shoot/hit.
*Maybe this is just me, but as a ranger you would think I would not litter. After killing a fambaa there would be a big pile of traps lying on the ground. Although this did tell me that I never had a lair spawn in a old lair spot. But I did have 3 lairs spawn about 80m from each other though the coruse of this.

The Other:
*Pistoleers and Carabineers may get the most from traps as they do not have /concealshot. Do not know this for sure as I am not one of these.

Things that need to be done:
*Make Trap States last longer and have a heavier effect.
*Make Dizzy work or get rid of it.
*Increase stack size.
*Read overthe other Rangers trap ideas and do something with it.

Is this about par. Do yall have better or worst luck with traps.

I've found the effect of traps vary from creature to creature. Some clearly have a higher resitance to snaring, others resist stun/blind effects. (OTOH, this may well have been me rationalising my pretty awful trapping abilities to try and save some degree of dignity /wink)
I've found myself just using multiple wire traps to generate xp. Good set of buffs and some kinetic armour, trip to Dantooine and join in a graul mauler group. 400 trapping XP every time a wiremesh trap hits. On the one occaision I lobbed traps at a kimoglia it gave something like 1400 trapping xp, which was very nice. Only got two or three traps in before I was squished into the ground though.
In my hunting kit I always carry a crate of basic wire mesh traps and craft glowwire and sticky mesh when the need arises.
