If this is for real I for one would be a ranger as soon as I could reactivate my account. It said there would be stealing - yes stealing, that was my chosen profession back in my UO days. I deactivated my account with my ranger on it mainly because I felt it was getting dull, but with some of those changes could make life exciting for a ranger/smuggler again. Heres to hoping this is fulfilled.

ranger/smuggler will be a really cool combo now. If we also get some SP reduction a combination of Bounty Hunter, Ranger and Smuggler will be the ultimate "spy" template, able to steal, smuggle, and use the BH informants. Dang that would be a sweet RPing template.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Yes, this is actually making me think of moving CH to one of my alts and taking BH and/or Smuggler for myself..

Looks like the profession is going from Ranger Rick to Army Ranger. This is going to be a much needed change.



Just my opinion -
With SWG many players became emotionally attached to the characters over 2 and a half years. They built a community, a group of friends/enemies, and some even married. They owned homes and businesses, had hopes and dream and goals. To me that sounds like real life, and to many it was their life, the life they always dreamed of living

I loved ranger. I mastered ranger 3 or 4 times, but this "newranger"looks like a bunch of magic crap instead of a ranger. You would think a ranger could track people/animals and not be focused mainly on cloaking.

theyre taking ranger from the LOTR verson to the U.S. Army verson.......which IMHO is a better move

While it looks like a big change towards being more of a Rogueish/subterfuge profession type, I would really hope the New Correspondant pushes the devs to KEEP our tracking (and forage.. its fun.. i am still looking for that cake)... we're not Rangers without tracking. Even Army Rangers, (as already mentioned,it looks like the new model for the Ranger profession) learn how to recognize tracks and signs of passage through differing environments. So while I welcome the new additions and well thought out changes, I really would not be happy if Tracking is removed.

Also; if theymake TKM / MRanger :-)less viable,(ie with pre reqs in ranged weapons)I hopethey offer a token to resepc.
