FOTM seems inevitable. I really like this profession due to it's rarity. I'll give the changes a chance don't get me wrong, I just feel wearing the Master tag won't be as special as it used to be.
/shrug. I'll keep an open mind. Just wish they'd let us test it and only us. lol. That would be cool.

Thoughts and fears...
well, it's the morning after the night before.
I woke up with this vague recollection of having met this gorgeous, seductive revamp at a party on the forums last night. There was a furry beery aftertaste in my head and I had this odd sick feeling in my gut.
I could hear somebody cooking breakfast in the kitchen, fried eggs and bacon from the sound of it, burnt plastic and rubber from the smell. Grabbing some clothes and a baseball bat I padded thru to see who, or what, was tinkering with my cooker.
And there it stood. Not unattractive, but sort of different, in a "nice personality" sort of way. Already my kitchen had been reorganised, the spice mill had gone out the window as it didn't work that great and my coffees of the world collection had been donated to the folk who live downstairs as, well, it didn't fit in with my new lifestyle.
I was mad as heck. I mean, who was this person (Good question that, the beer goggles hadn't just fuddled my eyes, my memory was taking a short vacation on FrooFroo Island) Why were they disrupting everything I'd come to know and love about living in this apartment. I mean, sure the bathroom door needed fixing, but you got used to pushing it shut with your foot, and the curtains were never a strong point but they sort of matched the wallpaper and carpet... It was a bit naff, but it was 'home' and I was comfortable here.
And still there it was, a 6 foot tall hairy revamp, mangling fried egg and bacon into what could, if you were in a charitable mood, be called an omelette.
Grudgingly I took a bite.
Yah know, it's not that bad. Apart from these bits of plastic and stuff...
And sure, it's not the most pretty of revamps that I've ever seen, but, well, in a certain light, yeah, I could live with that. I mean, let's face it, am just a broken down old ranger that's hung on to some weird busted stuff for the longest time, hoping that ONE DAY the devs would sprinkle magic dust and make everything pretty and wonderful in the Ranger Garden again...
And besides, this revamp? No great looker, but ohmigorsh... the things it can do???
/blush
Maybe life's not so bad after all.

I was thinking about the whole rarity and non-unberness too. The lifestyle looks like it's going to be preserved in Scout though, and I think that's the important thing.
But yes, FOTM...
This is going to be a tough time for the community, but as it's been said numerous times we have the best community on these forums. I think we're all going to have to work hard to make sure we don't turn into a clone of the BH / Jedi forums. If we do go down that road then I guess there's always the Scout forum to retreat to :/

Sounds like a good time.
Now if only a weather goddess would grace me with her presence some morning... that would be perfect.
But alas, I forecast alone... ![]()

It is the nature of things that many drastic changes will bring on a FotM feel.
Two things can happen. Either we WILL be FotM, at which point many will leave it when the next one comes along, and we will again be as uncommon (well, perhaps less uncommon) as now. Or we will be a profession that will take its place among the other combat professions as an equal.
Or all the new stuff will get nerfed to oblivion.
It's too soon to tell. We've only seen the first step, and there are many steps to go before the changes become reality.
