First I hope that I am not intruding, I am not a ranger though I don't wish to rule out any profession. (I lost all desire to rush too Jedi a month after I started... now I am looking to play the game)

I have been looking at the Ranger changes with much interest, I am really pleased to see more diversity added to the game. (Ranger as it is now seems to be little more then super scout) This brings me to my question, in your opinion is a paramilitary/covert operative style ranger (regardless of the "theft" which I think can be done without being Thievish but that is another matter) more "Star Wars" than the way it is now? (animal tracker/woodsman "park ranger" if you will)

Personally I feel that moving more towards NPC interaction adds to the utility and "Star Wars" ness of Ranger, giving them a role similar to the examples of rangers within the EU... Rangers as they are have a lack of Sci-Fi to them... something that doesn't add up in this universe. (even tuskens have blasters)

In the end if they can take the best of Ranger and Scout(A rather hollow proff. even for a novice) and compress it into one profession and at the same time reinvent Ranger to be something that fits into the Star Wars EU it will strengthen the game as a whole, just like every revamped profession seems to increase the diversity and "replay ability" of this game.

Please share your thoughts.

Play the game or don't it is what it is and will never be what it was for better or worse. I intend to play the game as long as it is fun, that does not make me a fan boy of brown noser. I know the game has it's flaws, but it serves no purpose to dwell in the past.
