congrats and welcome!

Glad you're a ranger in-game and on the ranger boards too!

I'm confused a bit though... it seems like you waited to do ranger like things until you were a master ranger. Get in touch with some master rangers on your server and they'll show you the ropes and point you in the right direction.

  • Get to know www.swgcraft.com

  • Check your server's trade forum for hot spawns

  • Get to know some BEs, Chefs, and armorsmiths on your server- they need to know what's spawning and they'll be buying too!

  • check the FAQ up at the top of this forum -it has a link to information on what other profs need

happy hunting!

Do the thing JB is always talking about, sticking stacks of stuff on the bazzar for 6k each. I'm sure he'll pop by and tell you more. I made my starter cash before I even got my Novice Ranger box.

But I did make a lot of my starter cash on the Bazzar... think Mos Eisley, Theed, Cnet, and maybe if you can resock fast enough at the other cities add Bestine. The key is resocking as quickly as things sell. Being out of stock in one city means losing sales in that city. JtL helps you keep your costs down on this big time.

My item was CDEFs. No I'm not kiding. Max dmg. 31 -63, 1999 each. I sold about 24 to 50 a day. And the description had the WP to my shop. I was making 80k to 250k a day with no crafting skills out side of Master Artisan.

Quick cash? Go to tat with your Master Ranger tag up and sit at the ranch for the Mark of Honor quest. I'd say 200k an hour for tracking but it's up to you.

Congrats.

As for cash, I find that JTL missions (i.e. blowing stuff up in space) is the easiest way for me.

Ya if you have any thing better than the starter ship an hour at the valarin sun POI in the tat sector should yeild about 100k once you sell the parts to the chassis dealer.

While I was grinding to Master Ranger Ive done a lot of hunting, trapping, etc. but the stuff I had to harvest a ton of stuff just to make a small amount of money. Once in a while, I can pick up some messages on the forum or some person spamming that they want certain resources and will pay X amount for it.

What Im trying to get at is that I want to get pro-active in gathering resources to sell. Stuff that if I come across while runnin around in the wild, I know its gonna sell for a decent rate or something.

Im starting to get real comfortable with the Ranger thing but I am totally clueless as to what other professions are constantly looking for. Ive tapped some of the other sources of info and learned that finding Avian and Herbivore meat with good OQ and PE will get top dollar from Docs. But what resources Armorsmiths look for? What about tailors, weaponsmiths, creature handlers, etc? Seeing that most of my work will be done in unpopulated areas, it will be a big benefit to search on my own for resources that I can bring back and sell for some major cash. The last thing I want is to lug around 50k of stuff that people will only pay 1 cpu while I miss out on the good stuff.

Hunting, harvesting, and fishing while a Novice ranger was fun, but now I want to play with the big boys.

Heheh you have the right idea.

I'm 10 to 20k into hot stuff before the spam starts. Keep your ears open and test the water on every planet you hit. Keep your eyes on SWGCraft, but NEVER trust it.

If you don't have at least a small background in crafting understanding stats is a little tricky. There is no substitute for understanding weighted averages, and lines of experimentation. Avian meat for buff packs needs high OQ, PE, and DR. The DR can't be bad... but at the same time it doesn't have to be great. Why?

Get to know the schems of the profs that depend on you. Get to know the resources. Herb caps PE at 700. Did I see this in some FAQ? No. I just listed all the herb ever on my server and sorted it.

This should answer a lot of your questions. Glad to see you want to be proactive about it... that's the best way. Often times if you send a quick tell to a buyer saying 'hey, just found this new spawn you may like' you'll get a 100k or so in bank from them! always a nice suprise.

On a side note... why is your font so large?

It depends on the stats, but in general Doctors are almost always in need of Herb Meat (and Avian) and Armorsmiths always need good hide. Chefs and BEs need lots of carnivore meat, too. The best bet is to see what is being bought on your server's trade forum. That will give you the specific resources people are after.

I can recommend the bazaar as well for organics that aren't "hot".

When I'm just out having fun and end up with thousands of organics that aren't really worth putting up for auction, I stick them on the bazaar in stacks of 1k and sell them for 6k.

Usually they'll all be gone when I log in the day after.

... and congratulations on getting Master Ranger
