I have stumbled upon the command "/throwtrap". When I sit down and use the command I get a system message that I can not throw a trap while sitting down, and when I us it while standing up and have a attackable creature targeted nothing happens.
Do anyone know what parameters to use to get this to work (if there are any).

I don't think it's working, or at least none of us has been able to figure out the syntax for the traps.
If there's a way to use it, I think the Devs would have told us though... then again, they didn't tell us when they changed our trapping skill mod so we could trap lvl 98 creatures.
Who cares if I can't stick a carbine state on rancors, I'll just throw it at them

Never has worked.
I use my traps from the toolbar.
And some states applied by traps - dizzy in particular - don't affect creatures. Blind does work, stun may work, dizzy does not work. Dizzy and creature and knock it down and it gets right back up.

I use my traps from the toolbar as well, in fact I have an entire toolbar just for traps. It would have been so nice if I could have put the p-dart on a hotkey and have, it work as long as I just had some in my inventory.
Any chance of getting the devs to "fix" it so it will work? Well I did not think so.
Ok now I have to go get my last two boxes of trapping done.

You could fire one off with /ui action toolbarSlot##, ## being replaced with the tool bar slot that the trap is in.. not realy usefull.
F1 is 00, SHIFT F12 is 23.

Yarh, I know that command from crafting macros. But pressing a say F1 to throw a trap in that slot or, pressing F1 to throw a trap that is in another slot is about the same.
I was hoping to make a macro I could bind to crtl+shift+Y that would throw an p-dart.
Now I guess I could make more complex system using an entire toolbar of P-darts, 25 macros and a few aliases, to accomplish it. but I am just to lazy to put the work in to make it work smoothly.
You could also try a trapping droid.
