When was the last time you successfully tracked the Pirates and the Farmer?

I have been out two night is a row, and couldn't find any of those targets... Normally I find any of 'em within 15-30mins (30 mins being the worst case scenario). I need to know because I am at the point where Iwant to register a trouble ticket.

I became the Hero of Tatooine LAST NIGHT!!

I started the hero quest casually a while back and found the boar by accident and spent 15 minutes finding the bounty hunters. I went out with a guildie one day a few weeks ago and found the moisture farmer in about 2hrs. Since then I spend 2 sessions of game-play seriously looking for the pirates and was getting very frustrated. If I had an errand to run on tat, I'd spend a half hour walking between about 15 waypoints. Two days ago I spend my last half hour online doing this around tat but to no avail, so I logged out in Mos Eisley. I logged on last night and decided that while I was there, I mayas well have a quick go at it... I found the pirates IMMEDIATELY. They were actually inside the boundaries of Eisley. After I talked to the leader, I walked towards the ranch and got the message "you have left Mos Eisley".

I then got buffed and headed to the squill cave to cliam not only my ring, but a snappy new title: "Hero of Tatooine"

On a side not, I was pretty happy to get this quest done. It requires some good ranger skills and I have a very strong affinity for Tatooine, especially Mos Eisley. Eisley was my starting city when I first began playing SWG... I had never played and MMORPG and was scared to leave the city... let alone the planet! I spent the good first while on Tat, exploring mostly around eisley and trying to figure out how on earth I was supposed to make any real money. So I love tat and now I'm happy to be it's hero

Congratz Cryos, the ring will do you good.... I have used it two times already when I had no time to visit the cloner

Well, Anyways... can you tell me roughly what time you launched yourself on the search to find the Pirate Leader? (My guess is, ~5:30-6.00 PM CST, is that right? )

Thanks, Xin

I started searching around 6:00pm EST last night.

I had heard that it is easier to find ALL of the quest spawns closer to server reset. So you may want to try Thursday or hop online early Saturday.

Good luck! I was getting VERY discouraged with the pirates... so don't give up.

Yeppers, I figured..... The last two nights I've been tracking at 9CST (10EST)... I have never started that late before.

Normally I set up "dates" around 5:15 to 6:30 PM CST with the people who are asking for help, and I have always found the targets.... Seems after that, the spawns take a long coffee breake.

I'm going to set it up as a rule in the future - No tracking for Hero's Quest after 6:00 PM CST.

Thanks Cryos for your input.

I spent the better part of a Saturday morning looking for those silly pirates and never saw a one. I'll have to give it another whirl, I guess, with this new knowledge.

My "never fail" technique for tracking the pirates consist of dropping two waypoints. One at Ranch house where the Pirate Leaders men are being held (and where you can visit the Antarian Guild Hall and Tusken Trophy Hall on Kauri) and one at a spot 1000 meters due south ofAnchorhead. Tracking along this line has never failed to find the Pirate Leader and only rarely do I have to made the trip more than twice.

As a side note, I always assumed that this line, while useful, most likely did not define the Pirate Leader's entire range. Much to my delight two nights ago, while tracking for Rebel PvE bases (spit spit) in the SE quadrant of planet, I ran across the Pirate Leader over a klick further east than I had seen him before. However, he was still on that same line.

However...I tried to find him again for someone else, and looked and looked and looked. Even went through all the waypoints in the Game Guides forum....nada. Someone posted that he only spawns once per server reset. I was believing it last night when I think I tracked every inch of Tatooine southeast of Mos Eisley and found nothing.

I know for an absolutely positive no-question-about-it fact (more or less) that he will spawn multiple times in a given night. I've seen it myself, but of course can't say if this is always his behavior. My guess is that he (and all of the hero quest spawn) spawn randomly within a defined area. The issue with tracking him on a given night is that, at least for the Pirate, that area seems to be fairly wide (though perhaps not very deep)and because your movement pattern doesn't match his movement (or killed and respawned) pattern he seems hard to find.

When I have found him. He has aways been 1800 - 2000 m from the ranch. Granted after a few times of tracking in a spiral pattern around the ranch and finding him in this ring that's where I look. I'll have to try the line method. I have to note I have found him in several places that would not be on the "line"

That's exactly the way I do it too

Well, my "short" investigation.... I seem to have greater odds of finding my targets at around 5.00 PM to 7.45 PM. After that I'm blind

The Farmer and the Pirates probably have their bed time at around that time, whilst the boar hangs out around the clock... guess he's old enough to stayout partying24/7... (I always find the boar, no matter what time it is !)
