By edible they mean that you can eat it ... not that you would want to. Kind of like Brussel Sprouts or Fried Liver.![]()

Well when I my newbie checked the major melon out, it did not have any stats... if the same goes for frosted foods well then I guess that thoughts small bonuses has been removed as well.

Hehe they were speaking in regards to not being able to eat your free melon upon character creation. Because you couldnt eat this item, it also meant you couldnt eat any foraged items either.

In the new system, why revamp the foraged food list when all that needs doing to make it worthwhile is take away the filling values of the foods and perhaps put the buffs on a cooldown timer (so for instance you can only eat 1 melon per 5 mins etc).
The buffs are slight but in the new system they could be considered moderate short term buffs to speacial ability pools, health pools and health regen pools.
What do you think? I think if foraged foods wereshort term buffs(as the currently are)without filling values then this would certain add something to the profession, revitalising a system without much effort. I know fixing the forage system is the last thing on most people's minds but i think about a lot of things and its a route we could explore as it needs little attention.

Hm... If foraged foods didn't fill and provided short term buffs they might prove useful. However, they should differ from Chef buffs as to not take away anything from that professions but rather they should provide marginal bonuses over a short period of time - maybe a very small mod to special recovery speeds, healing etc. to provided people who's invested in foraged goods a slight (notice slight) advantage abover lesser prepared foes (mainly speaking PvP here since I think the CU will enhance the PvP experience vastly). For instance, if you theoretically could fire Strafe2 0.1-0.2 seconds faster than someone without the foraged foods you'd gain a small advantage but not large enough to be game breaking from my point of view. Rangers would then get something fairly unique which the skillpoints cost would also reflect, since there has been no plans to vamp the cost for scout or ranger.
Oh, and it would be nice with an option regarding what you wish to forage after - It's sometimes annoyingly frustrating when you can't find any bait, when you feel like going fishing. Especially on Dathomir

Well thats what alot do at present. Most do like 60 second stat pool buffs etc.
They could be used like in big fights or when you get into a sticky situation, eating one may give you an extra shot or two or with those foods that buff the secondry pools, they would give you increased regen.
I need to find the foraged list we have somewhere and see exactly what effects the items will have post-cu.

I did some foraging on TC5 and found no difference with the foraging system already present.

no difference in terms of effect but there will be a difference in terms of impact on your character. For instance increasing your mind or action pools will now enable you to use more specials for example whereas before it was used as a heal or buff.

I still wish that foraged items would be changed to stackable components for chefs, doctors, BE's and medics. Improving the products that we all use for buffs, food buffs, food stuffs and heals.
I think that that would be a much more useful solution.
