Yeah!!! We need a Ranger Hat!!! And special camo Ranger Underwear!!! These two things, when worn in combination with camopants, give another +100 in harvesting to a Master Ranger!!! The new harvesting bonus will only apply, however, if the Master Ranger prepares for the hunt by tying up a Master Tailor and smacking them to death with their own evil garment!!! Muahahahahahahaha!!!

Here's my two cents:

The Ranger hat should be craftable by rangers. We should get the schematic at Advanced Trapping 4, because the hat can be thrown like a trap. It causes a stun state and a health bleed, after which it returns, as if by magic, to rest upon our noble heads. (It sits at a rakish angle on mine-- the ladies love that.)

The hat also has 4 slots for placing attachments, and doesn't decay, a la the mabari belt.

Here's where it gets tricky, so bear with me. If an individual Ranger also has Wayfaring 4 (and is not merely a trap stacker), then the hat can change colors like comp armor. By adjusting hat color to mimic current surroundings, the Ranger receives a +25 bonus to camo/maskscent. This bonus is in addition to any BE modified clothing. It also doubles the bonus given by jawa beer, because Rangers who enjoy a refreshing ale while wearing a stylish hat are too cool for school. Hear that, kids? Too cool for school!

FYI, if you haven't read Blake's "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell" yet, do yourself a favor and pick it up.Blake may have been a nut, but he was a nut ahead of his time.

Speaking of time, if I had access to a time machine, I'd love to sneak up behind 'Sir' Francis Bacon andbludgeon him with a sackful of doorknobs. I've always hated that guy with a bloody passion.

The Tracking tree is where the Ranger hat gets one of its most crucial bonuses. As the Ranger's eyes are shielded from harmful UV rays, he or she never again falls prey to the dreaded 'hundred meter hole,' and can easily readthe most miniscule of signs which point to a creature or person within eyeshot.

For thoseRangerswho have obtained Frontiering 4, the Ranger hat allows battle fatigue healing in camp due to its easy fit and rugged comfort. It also exudes an aura of menace and/or undeniable majesty, which allows the High Tech Field Base to actually repel hostile creatures. Creatures with CL below 50who wander near the camp harvest themselves and place their resources in the Ranger's inventory while the hat is worn in camp.

Upon reaching Master Ranger, a truly valuable skill is obtained: dual wield. At this level of proficiency, the Ranger can wear two hats. Whilethis doesn'tadd to any of the previous bonuses, it is a well-known fact that the wearing of two hats grants a 50% resistance to lightsabers.

Ans that's why we need a hat, yo.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want the Ranger hat to define our entire profession. On the contrary, I want our profession to BE DEFINED by it. You know what I'm saying? You grok my mouthmusic?

Ok lets talk style here. How should the ranger hat look? Should we be limited to one style or should we have several different one. I am partial to a beret, but something in a more hunting style or one with a soft brim in a more floppy style could be nice as well.

Also I think the ranger hat should take both AAs and Cas. Moreover, rangers wearing the ranger hat should be able to pacify animals so they do not move during milking.

The ranger hat should be floppy on the sides, but armored on the top.

Think Viking Caps, but with a floppy fabric hanging down the sides, yet instead of horns, it should have holders to hold pepsi, beer, booze, jawas, jam, small rocks, other ranger hats, sandwiches and bratwurst.

This way, all the essential stuff would be right there for you.

I support the Hat AND the poncho!!! You should need to quest for each. Once both quests are completed, and the next time the ranger spends any time on Tatooine, s/he should be approached by the Desert Madman. You will be offerred a chance to do 4 final quests (one should involve cheese) once completed you will be given a new Badge: Kreetle Commander.

Kreetles will no longer aggro nor will they break camo/maskscent. You can once a day summon a horde of 20 to unleash your desert wrath on something.

YES! YES! I can see it now!!! MUAHAHAHAHA
