There's a discussion about stealth currently on the GCW forum, actually proposed by the the GCW correspondent. (wonder if he's ever read the ranger forums). A suggestion made in his post, is "Stealth for the rebel faction".
To be fair, "stealth" is only a small part of his overall proposal. But also mentioned is a Stealth Field Generator (Single Use Item – to drop off Radar) and Stealth and Ambush specialization (Hidden Faction Icon/Colors on Name?)
Anyway, there have always been discussions of stealth or radar hiding for our profession - with pros and cons and concerns of exploits. But there have been many good ideas about how stealth could work properly for us.
Stealth is only a small part of his proposal, as a rebel only GCW function, but I thought I'd post here for a heads up. Although I don't think it's likely that this ability would be faction only, as was suggested, I'd hate to see something similar implemented which might mean we lose out on this at some point in the future.

I wouldn't worry about the devs giving all Rebels the ability to drop off the radar. Besides, we were told it would never happen, is there reason to believe it will? Until a Dev posts that they will do it, I wouldn't worry. Everyone has the penchant for asking for skills that other professions should have (Ranger Weapon, anyone?) or have asked for.
This not meant to sound as harsh as it does, I am just trying to stop the anger and hate that may come from this

And rest assured that Owen and I will never allow that to happen

As for stealth,
there should be 3 types:
City: BH
Space: Smuggler
Wilderness: Ranger
All three could be different and unique, yet at the same time benefitial.
And as a big proponent of a ranger specific weapon...
I just want my trap launcher.

I thought we had our own weapon. I mean... my fishing rod can really hurt when you get smacked with it.... not to mention the hook!
Oh, I get it. Fishing poles can be used by anyone so it's not ranger specific. Never mind then

The scales keep it from hurting

Ranger weapon = Traps
pft... you meant to say fishing rod right?
Tell you what owen... you take your traps and I'll take my fishing rod and we'll have an unbuffed, unarmoured duel. My fishing rod has a whicked DOT - you're going down *squints eyes and growls a bit*
