I'm currently a 2/3/2/3 ranger and after looking over the CU notes - it seems that ranger has been ignored. My question is this - do we get to reapply our skill points (to another profession) when the CU hits like some of the other professions?
Also how will this conversion conversion work? Any one heard anything about this? Thanks alot!!!

Yes you can reapply your skills, at least according to the latest posts. But don't give up on ranger. I am one of those who are very unhappy the way we are being treated, but I have never thought of giving up Ranger in the over two years of playing SWG (this includes beta before it went live). I have not always maintained Master, and now it will be even more advisable without some serious changes to maintain Master. You just simply will be to far behind everyone else. The combat professions are currently the only way you can increase your health bar level (up to 3000 pts.). If you maintain M Ranger you will only be able to get a max increase to 1000. This will decidedly put any Ranger at a distinct disadvantage, so the best you can try and hope for and still remain a Ranger is a plus 2000 which still leaves you 1000 behind the so-called combat professions, since neither scout nor ranger is considered a combat profession.
This will not only make it a disadvantage in combat and against NPCs it will be so against high level creatures as well. Let's say you are a M Ranger, going up against let's say an Enraged Rancor, right next to you at the other Enraged Rancor lair is a dual Master Combat professional. He/She will have 2000 more life potential then you do against the same creature, plus they have far more combat bonuses. So which is going to have the most likely better chance of surviviing this encoutner? Well obviously the other character. We are suppose to be the deadliest hunters in existance, and we will be out matched by any dual combat professional who has such a huge advantage to fighting. This is the whole problem with the Devs seeing us as a non-combat Elite Profession. It not only puts us at serious disadvantage in PvP and NPC encounters but against any moderately difficult creature we want to hunt. So grouping with people who can possible kill the creature will be a must.
I hope this helps your question and I hope it explains why I say this, at least at this point of the CU. I have both a pure fighter and a Wookiee Ranger (well potential Ranger since you can't be one at this time, in fact until they fix traps you can't even master Scout in CU so this is the best I share with you at this time).
