I have just got novice ranger and was wondering if camoflage was worth getting as I was just going to get the line for creature harvesting and tracking. How exactly does it work?

Camo is an "enhanced" version of mask scent with the added benefit of being able to apply it to others. That branchis also beneficial for its terrain negotiation bonuses. You have never seen crawling in this game until you have seen a Master Ranger crawl.

Is it really worth getting? I am a master scout/ master rifleman and have got 334 medic which i ahev found extremely useful so far and as far as I can see xx4x ranger is the only line that i think is useful....

I found that it seems to work best on the tougher planets, on Dathomir it helps to prevent npc's from seeing you, unless you get too close.

Whilst my camo stays up I can travel carefully from lair to lair without getting agroed and hunt quite happily.

When it drops (or wears off) it becomes a whole different proposition, then it is a mad X34 ride tofind a safe spot to stop and re-apply camo.

Camo, depending on what the devs do during the CU unbalance, is currently useful against creatures and NPC opponents, but useless in player vs. player inspite of the fact that they have given this to Rifleman (which I want to state I am not oppose to their having) which allows them to totally disappear off the radar. We have asked and asked for this in conjuntion with camo and maskscent (especially camo) but were constantly told it was impossible with the code and they would never allow it. Well so much for they couldn't do it and they will never do it, they obviously were only speaking of scouts and ranges when they stated this.

I would suggest getting the /conceal ability which is gained through the first box of the wayfairing tree (or whatever that first tree is there). Once you have the /conceal ability, you can use any and all camo kits, even though you can't craft them. Then, you can either buy camo kits from somebody or hunt your own resources and have a MR friend craft you a schematic for a factory.

That's the cheapest way (skill point wise) to derive the most benefit from camo kits and /conceal.

I should also add, yes, it is worth it. Out on dathomir, I'm not so much concerned about a baz nitch coming after me as I am about an NS. On lok, it's the NPCs aggroing me that bothers me, and same with tat. /conceal is great, IMO, because I'm generally not in to the mood to fight NPCs so it's nice to be able to slip past them unnoticed.
