It will change soo, Im hoping for scout 4400 as a pre-req.
I certainly hope not...
I enjoy being a master scout and think that it fits well with what we do. How can we justify not having the harvesting or the trapping line when that are the only things that make us unique.
no one else uses traps, and by removing the harvesting line would negate a lot of the harvesting bonuses that we have.
I dont care about point loss, if the end result is worth it.

I tend to agree that it's hard to imagine having Ranger without all the skill trees in Scout as well. Terrain Negotiation, Trapping, Creature Knowledge/Harvesting and Camping are all needed for Ranger.
Maybe if they just changed it similar to the way they did Image Designer, knock a skill point off of each box in Ranger. That would free up an extra 16 skill points and allow you to do get Master Ranger, a Master Pistol/Carb/Rifle, plus a full tree in BH or SL....or Master Ranger, Master CH, Master SL...and many other combinations like that.

Would you mind providing documentation on that?
Secondly:
I respectfully disagree with your assertations of benefits about the changes of pre-reqs for rangers. Not that i dont believe you... I just like being a master scout too. (please dont mistake my questions or disagreement as beligerent. I like most of your opinions and ideas, but my intention is to facilitate intelligent debate on the skill point reduction idea.)
True: it makes sense that a doctor should be a master medic and yet its not.
It makes sense that a ranger would also be a master scout. However, until rangers are given a role and a definition that is unique and viable, then talking about skill point reductions are a bit premature.
-very respectfully.
If mastery of scout were ever removed from our prerequisites, then whatever branches we would no longer require would be removed from our Ranger skill trees and replaced by something else. This is why there is disaggreement among the community over whether or not we should be required to master Scout before taking novice Ranger. Every skill tree in Ranger corresponds to one in Scout. Trapping for trapping, camps for camps, concealment for concealment, and knowledge / harvesting for knowledge / harvesting.

Well then scout 0440 will suit me fine. SLs need scout 0004, CHs need scout 4040, BHs need scout 4000 and rangers need master just isnt fair with the current balancing. If we go to 0440 scout or something like that I can be MBH/master ranger/CH 0304 and be much more usefull and effective. But thats just me. Others can use the skill points to be better at killing. A skill point reduction is needed and is coming.
