this was using about 6 different traps, including that one - I just keep trapping, shooting, dodging, etc. It definitely helped, tho it did NOT seem to apply a permanent "root" state this time. And let me tell you, that sucker is FAST... don't try and find a good spot to go prone for snipershot, either you've got an absolutely clear field of view but "Can't see target" or it's all over you in a matter of seconds as soon as the pdart/mesh/kneecap shot wears off.

Congratulations!

I made it down to see the Kararn once... tried to kill it, but it did me in rather quickly... I should invest in some Battle Armor...

Yup, you read that right. I just soloed the katarn and got the Badge. Wheee!

Who says Ranger stinks and lacks power. Master Ranger, Master Rifleman. Careful movement into the area, slow and steady aim, and prudent use of some of the better traps at our disposal, and then 10-15 min later (dang, that sucker regenerates fast!), me 1, katarn 0. Woot!

congrats dude. that is no easy task. i finally made it down to see the Katarn last night, and lets just say that i had a VERY fast trip back to the starting location.

Was this by chance using the 'one broken trap' that supposedly works indefinetly and/or for a ridiculously long time?

All you need to do is root, snare, critical shot, critical shot, torso shot, critical shot, KD, torso shot, snare, critical, torso, rinse and repeat. Fairly easy actually, but I can see how rifleman would be hard and take time. I tried master rifleman/master ranger but I felt I was lacking so went back to MBH/Master Ranger/SL 0300 which SL adds alot of mods, should check into it.

Yup. Rifleman / Ranger has power, but is a challenge. I like a challenge. I don't want it to be SIMPLE to solo everything in the game, I like having to use tactics and think carefully about what and how I'm going to do things before I start into a big confrontation.

The most annoying thing is how BUGGY the Shadow Lands are - I don't know HOW many times I was standing right on top of something, and still "Can't See Target".... aaargh.

when i tried to make my escape from there once i got aggroed by the Katarn and the hatchlings i kept getting can't see target when i tried to use Stopping Shot on the Katarn to Root him so i could make a break for it. i did end up outrunning them, but then the goat people got me. (i know they are called Gotal, but from they shall be referred to from now on as "Goat People" by order of Colonel Oreet of the Imperial Army.

Im hoping rangers get a skill reduction just for the fact that I have 900k rifleman xp saved up and would like to get rifleman 4000. I love the improved sniper shot and take cover. But, MBH was my first master. Ive had it for 20 months now and promised myself to never give it up, lol.

As a matter of fact, I was MBH/ranger tracking 3 since sept 2003 and just recently changed to what I have now. Man, Im very happy with what I have now. Makes for more fun. I just wish they would make a quick fix so we can use camo kits in the wookie planet and do a quick fix to give us mods like they did with smuggler, BH, and SL which are all in front of us for revamping.
