Though "pulling" creatures hasn't been a new idea ive found a way to pull it off post CU. (NPI)
get apet and have it attack then directly afterwards tell it to follow you. this causes the creature to agro the pet and run after it twards you. it also doesn't bring in all of the "unwanted attention" that a social group can bring into play.this is how ive been completeing rodian hunter's quests sofar on kasyyyk.

I found that this works really well if the pet has a ranged attack since the creature youwant to pull will come running that much sooner.

heh. you don't need a ranged attack. ive beenpulling Ullers at past 80m with this method with my craptastic carrion spat mount.

No need for CH. I was doing this with my droid the other day, worked great. The probe droids ranged attack is great. Keep batteries and some repair kits around though.

This actually seems to be a bug with pets. Post-CU if you tell a pet to attack, the animal it is attacking knows right away thus running to your pet while the pet is still doing its little ! crouch/roar animation. Pre-CU the pet had to actually run up to the creature and hit it once before it would notice and attack back.
But then again... Bug? Intended? Who knows?

I just plug em at the right distance, back up a bit, when they are away from the other I simply root and snare em and the fight begins.

Most likely bug. I noticed the same thing with my own attacks.
I firethe firstshot but the combat spam always shows the target as getting off the first round.

I think the devs put it in to allow creatures that "hate" eachother to auto agro eachother to make it seem more life-like and it just carried over to pets.

I just use cammo, I have no pets. One quick shot or a trap and the creature chases me leaving the others behind, if they are too tough to let aggro me, then I /cover and try that way. Failing that I use a dart.

To pull one creature, I have been using traps. Glow wire works good, actually any of the traps, if effective, have worked great for me. Plus it seems I have a Joe Montana throwing arm, since I can cover alot of distance with the throw. Anyway, just my two cents into. Traps seem to work best for me, for pulling one creature.

Just don't throw 'Sonic Pulse' when trying to single pull, its got an AOE.
