I was in our guildhouse last night and lvl'd Survey II in the Artisan tree for making traps. **edit**? Anyone else notice that they get Survey XP for making traps now.

In a positive light, at least it looks like the devs are looking at our camp and trap making.. just moved it in the wrong tree.

You mean I wont be able to finish my training to Novice Architech by crafting my Traps and Camps?

FWIW, I am about 20K away from Advacne Trap IV. Right now, I think I have about 22K Gen crafting XP from all the traps and camps I have made. So at best, had that been Trapping XP I could now just be getting Master Trapper. Not that Trapping is that hard to get anyway.

Now if crafting camps grants Survival XP, look out practice grinding. Most likely I would do it during the 10 to 12 minutes of "healing" I would be doing in camp anyway.

Actually, when you make traps, the person who harvested the resources gets surveying xp. You don't get survey xp for crafting but for using harvested resources. Try it with someone else's resources.

Then if we harvested the hides and bones and meat used in our trap making, we should get scout/ranger xp because this is the catagory that creature harvesting falls under for us.

Yep, when you make traps, since we harvest our own resources(except maybe metal/polymer) the game apparantly treats a resource as a resource, so we give ourselves UXP each time we construct a trap. Which in all honesty is silly. Either it should give nothing, or it should give scouting exp for hide/bone/meat and survey exp for all mined/sampled resources.
