First excuse me if it was already asked, but search feature won't work for me today...

Are camo kits working in PVP?

Can you hide from players, as described in the skill box.

For exemple, can BH sneak on jedi with this, or Jedi hide from BH with them ?

Nope. Camo doesn't hide you from players. Apparently that would be exploitable, too difficult to code, uhm could be bypassed by evil hackers with packet sniffers...

So if you want to be invisible in PvP become a rifleman or a jedi.

There's no reason they cant at least code a to-hit penalty when you're camo'd. Making you -20 to be hit by another player is not anywhere near as difficult as making a Rifleman or Jedi disappear altogether.

Personally, I think camo should make you disappear like a Jedi, only maybe you become slightly visible when crawling, and completely visible when moving - but you go invisible again the moment you stop moving, until an enemy (player or npc or critter) breaks your camo. A ranger/rifleman using /conceal AND /cover should be alot harder to spot by npcs, and alot harder to break their cover/invisibility when players/npcs get close - like down to 5m.

We used to be able to snipe and solo Krayts and NS with conceal shot and camo

There is one reason. The CU killed accuracy modifiers. There's is no to-hit ( this includes creature to-hit, so if it wasn't broken before, it's completely useles now ) modifiers, not for kneeling, running, walking, range.... nothing.

It's now accuracy vs defense. I do like the idea of giving us +ranged/melee defense when camoed though. Kinda like an active ability, requring us to track, harvest, kill and in the end craft the consumables ourselfs, instead of giving it to us as an innate ability.

The fact that you would only have the defenses on planets you have camo kits for, makes it even more rangerish

On note for the accuracy penalty, I suggested this, and my response was that all players can use camoflauge, so it would be imbalancing.

Where have I heard that one before? /rollseyes

Geez, some people, eh?

Of course it would be tied to our profession/+camo skill, duh.

How is it imbalancing? So, let all players that are camo'd have the defense bonus. They'll still need to find a Ranger to supply it to them. Can they apply it themselves now, or do they still need a Ranger to apply it to them, too? If they need a Ranger to craft, supply and apply it to them, and they get a decent defensive bonus from it, and everybody wants to benefit from it,....then Rangers might have a small place in this game again. Can't have that now, can we?

This was also the reason many rangers cried in pain when usage of the camo kit was given to everyone.

Our only hope now might be that we get a /cloak (for want of a better term) that can only be activated while concealed to remove from radar.

Instead of "/cloak", I like the command "/blend" for Rangers to blend into their surroundings. But, you are correct - the unbalancing of camo came when they made it simply a ranger-crafted item that everyone can use. In the old days, it was only the ranger that could wander among the aggro critters untouched - even a low-level ranger with the proper camo could sneak in pretty much anywhere he wanted, and others couldnt follow.
