Thread: Does anyone else ever do this... :)
I'm just the opposite. I will try to /forage in the most obscure places. It's amazing what you can find on top of your guild hall or in the fire while camping. No rare items yet...
They removed the rare find in beta. They thought that peeps would make forage macros to get SEA's and such. Funny tho, they still have not fixed the Borgle Cave...
I use it to feed Achilles and Simba.
Oh don't get me wrong. I know exactly what the things I can find are, all of which I don't need.
I just do it because I have this romantic notion that when I see this strange looking piece of land or plantlife, you just never know... (even though I do perfectly well).
I just can't help but to let Camby dig around by that strange looking plant, or old stone carving. I know well enough she won't find anything, but she doesn't.

It seems to me that its just a random item from a list for that particular region. It would be pretty sweet if they did revamp the forage system though.
In Morrowind, different plants were actually containers so "foraging" was more like pulling the item from the plants inventory. I also read in World of Warcraft they're going to have a node system, and as you go up the hunting/foraging class you'll actually be able to recognize different nodes for better items. Maybe we could get a system like that?
