I have a ton of questions. I have read the forums first, but I can figure out what is old, true, or wish.
I) The wayfair tree
Does camoflage at high lvls work on NPC's?
I have tried it a few times, and NPC's still attack me and I don't get a camo broken.
If it doesn't work on the NPC's, then what is the point? maskscentmight be less powerful,
but if something breaks it, can't I just wait and mask again?
The other bonus areto terrain negotiation and burst run eff.
As a newbie ranger how can I get the most out of this tree?
This seems like alot of point just lost.
II) Frontiering
Do I really need any of theadvanced camps?
The scout camp regen me ok.
Does anyone actually forage for anything?
What am I missing here?
III) Bioscience
Ok , Im CH and this is what I really started ranger for.
Creature Knowledge means I dont have to look stuff up on the web right?
the area track is kind of goofy because of the spawn system right?
I do a track, walk 10 meters and a animal spawns right in front of me that
wasn't in the track.
THIS IS THE ONLY TREE IM REALLY USING RIGHT NOW
AND I THINK IT IS BUGGY.
IV) I really should use traps more, maybe this is the area I'm missing
that makes ranger ok. What kind of traps are you guys really using
and how well do they work? I'm a novice pistoleer, so mind traps
aren't really useful to me I think.
Driods kind of killed harvesting bonuses right?
I need to get camo, traps, and camps mass produced in crates
to stack them right?
Help!!! I really need some advice on how to get the most out
of being a Ranger. Not just a link to a guide, but how are you
guys using the class to justify the skill points?
Also I'm a little confused as to what the Dev's have actually
said we would get as fixes. I read Holo's post, but that
was a really long time ago. Are any of those things like
traps and attack blinds really going to be put in? What are
we really going to get?

Wayfaring and Camo:
Firstly camo works on some NPC's and not on others. It is resource heavy and not greatly better than maskscent.
More often than not, camo seems to work on opposite factions if you are overt or TEF'd
Terrain Negotiation in the Ranger trees only make you crawl faster, and the burst run efficiency means you use up less HAM to use it.
Frontiering:
Our camps are currently useless, the only reason to use it is to regen health in the field, and thats it..for that you are right, the scout camps work fine.
Field Bioscience is now Tracking
Tracking critters, NPC's, Players is one of our best skills, and it has some bugs, however, with people zipping around on speeders, PC tracking is only useful if your target is on foot.
Trapping
I only use the scout traps, the ranger ones are pretty weak and generally useless. They also tend to be a duplicate effect to most weapon specials.
ie: one trap can dizzy and stun a critter but most weap profs have specials that do that effect much better.
Most Veteran Rangers will agree that being a ranger is more of a state of mind and a way of life rather than a very useful profession... we can only harvest 2x a novice scout and if you are melee, the +to hit in the tracking tree is not applicable.
Hope this helps, if you have further questions, dont hesitate to ask, we are generally friendly

do all camps heal wounds? or only to HT-field kit?
All camps heal wounds. But, as AgonThalia already said, the higher camps do it slightly faster. Overall, Ranger is not very useful. I am a Ranger because it fits my playstyle (I seem to like to waste skill points for no good reason). The Devs have not given us a timeline for fixes but have suggested that the Combat Balance might solve some of our problems.

Camo lasts longer than mask scent, so long as it doesn't get broken first, that is. As one's camo skill is lower than their mask scent skill, and as camo takes up resources, most just use mask scent. Being superstitious, I like to use camo. If I thinkit will work better, then it will! Right? Aw, shucks.
Bust out the HTFB to get the 'oooh' and 'ahhh' from players who haven't seen them before. That's the best use for them. If you don't have a crafting droid or a station in your house, and if you're nowhere near a city, then you can also use the station in this camp to make a schematic for traps. Carry a factory with you and you can make crates of traps out in the field.
Plus, you can lord it over architects that you can make TWO crafting stations for only 30 units of metal whereas they need 400 metal, 50 mineral and a bunch of artisan items. The Professor on Gilligan's Island must have been a ranger dabbler! (Of course, they're onlypublic stations, so don't really throw this at the architects...)
Use traps that lower a target's defenses. Glow wire traps will help you and your pet. Adhesive mesh and P.Darts will help you escape if your pet autostores for some reason. I guess you could use the ranger traps to lay some states on your target, since pistoleer has only the bleeds (I think...), and pets don't throw specials as often as you'd like.
As far as justifying the skill points, we generally don't. I don't want to speak for everybody, but I have enough to have any single combat mastery and novice medic, and that OK with me.
Now get out there and make some monkey!
