Hey guys, a Dev just posted that the bug that only allows traps to be thrown from top level inventory, and not from a backpack, will be fixed in Publish 9.

Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.

Pub 9? So when's that, two more weeks or more? No offence to the dev team, but IMHO that is to long. This is something that was working just fine, got broken by a main publish, and has been broken for a month now. They need to hotfix it.

It may seem like a small thing, and not game breaking(which it isn't) and not effecting GCW, or things like that, but its a big part of two professions. Whether or not people use traps all that often can't be use in the argument. It's a major part, one whole skill tree, of two professions, a novice and an elite.

It took them more then a week just to acknowledge the problem to begin with. Now they say we have to wait longer for a fix, when it could be hotfixed? Not acceptable. But that's just me

The main difference is that you can get around the bug. If it was impossible to use traps at all, you would see a hotfix. But, because it is easy enough to get around, they will take their time and do it right. It is annoying but it is probably not worth risking a hotfix (that could easily screw up some other system as I would think the traps got messed up by a change completely unrelated to traps).

That maybe so, but why was it broke in the first place, when no changes in that publish dealt with inventory. I know enough about programming and coding to know that strange unexpected changes should not happen to totall unrelated systems when some other system is changed. Providing things are doing logically, and in good industry standards for programming. Again, I don't know the devs, or their work environment, but I have been puzzled by some of the problems they have again and again. To me it's the principle of the matter. If something breaks because of something I did, "I" fix it ASAP. Otherwise, it looks poorly on me and how I feel about the quality of my work.

Never could understand why this was a big deal. My traps, 3 sets of pdarts, 1 set of glowwire, plus a reload of each, stay in my main inventory. I use satchels and my pack for the rest of the stuff.

Am I missing something important here, or are y'all tidy freaks?

I would say tidy freaks JB. At least I am...I try to keep my inventory as empty as I can. I start to ge tthe shakes if my main inventory gets above 50%.

I agree, keeping your main inventory free is very handy. While I was doing the Rebel Themepark, I forgot to get rid of all the traps in my inventory ahead of time, I only noticed my inventory was full right before I talked to the bloke who gives you the Rebel Banner.
