...hold me back, folks, am going to go Tonto on some a$$hats scalp...
I'm sat out at the Memorial, just outside Bestine, mulling over the ways of the world, crafting up some traps, watching a squill come down off the slopes and rip into a spawn of gorg, y'know, Ranget At Rest stuff.
Up pops a /tell asking if I'm in Bestine and am I able to teach scout skills. Yep and yep, I reply and a few minutes later am earning a chunk of AP for, well, sitting on my ass, watching squill and all that stuff up there. Nice warm fuzzy.
OK, little later I get another /tell. Same drill as before. Except this time, when I ask the player to come out and meet with me (Heck, I was comfortable, its a nice spot) he's off on a rant about how high and mighty did I think I was, why should he come all that way out (max 500m) and if he sees me around when he's a (guess what prof?) he'll edit edit my edit head off.
Bunged the mental midget on addignore, and got back to watching my buddy the squill ripping some novice player a new a$$hole. Couldn't help but wonder if it was my erstwhile buddy tho...

I have had that happen to. "Can you meet me?" and there out at some city on the other side of the planet. Not to sound high and mighty. But im doing you a favor. I think you can come to me.
BTW i unintentionally capped my AP in a most unusual method. Fishing. I found a ***** density/no vegetation spot 500m from the Dath trade outpost. I was just fishing for days and people came to me and leaned their skills. I kept teaching after i capped, no reason not to. But i'll never understand a person who thinks you should go to them. At least give me some incentive like a pre-nerf melon. Or the waypoint to a secluded oasis on Tat or some such thing,

Now I must add I have had people come 1000's of clicks to me to get trained. And thank me for it a billion times!!

That happens to me a lot.
Player tells me: Can you train me in X?
Kimi: Sure, np!
Player: I'm at SP. Shuttle r here in 3min Plz hurry
Whatever..
I find the majority of people want me to meet them, unless it's someone that's already in the same town, or if they're close by. I try not to be rude because you never know if they're interested in playing Rangers, or if they're just hologrinding.
Maybe I'll get friendlier tells after pub9

When I get a tell, I reply stating where I am/will be shortly and saying that I would be glad to train them if they can meet me there.
I can't recall ever having had anyone get upset with me.
Oh and I have capped my AP twice now, once after getting Master Scout, again after getting Master Ranger. I will still train people if they ask me, i still remember the awefull week I stood night after night in Mos Espa shouting for people to train to get the AP for Master Scout.

Bah spammers ! My personal pet hate... We already have corolag ... now with all the new peeps in eisley its becoming even worse...
No offence to you personally, but do you spammers not realise how much damage you do to the game ? Bang goes any atmosphere... here comes the lag.... Bang go the chances of holding a conversation in spatial.... I run two accounts, have mastered loads of proffessions and have achieved all this without spamming anywhere..
Im still waiting and hoping for SOE to TEF all spammers... Now that would be great !

I was on Dan, wandering as usual, get the "can you train me" tell. Sure. Then...where are you? Ok, my reply...-4535 1224 BUT, I am a Ranger and I don't sit still that much. I finish up at that waypoint, no student, move on.
"Where are you?" I'm at lalala now.
"Where are you?" I'm at lalala now.
Anyway, he did finally catch me. Turned out this was a fine player. Kind and polite. He didn't mind chasing me across those fields. Suprise, suprise.

Him: "Can you train me in Tracking III?"
Me: "I'm out in the wild atm, shooting at a rancor"
Him(2 minutes later, I'm guessing he tried others and failed): "ok, I'll come to you if you want, where are you?"
Him:"Hello? u there?"
Me (1 minute, 15 seconds later): "<insert coords>"
I go out to harvest, shoot some more, he shows up (he /wave s) but I go harvest b'cuase I know body rot will come if I don't. He follows me a bit till I'm done. Then I train him.
Him:"Thanks"
Me:"np"
- Occationally -
Him:"I need Tracking III. Are you at the outpost?"
Me: "I'm out in the wild atm, shooting at a rancor"
Him:"Can you come back please?"
Me(seeing one of the rancor buddies first make a move to me and Achilles blocks him. I get up to switch targets and run):
Him:"Hello? I need training, can you please come to the OP?"
Me(#1 is dead, #2 has been intercepted by Achilles, #3 assists #2 but #4 is continuing on to me)
Him:"You there?"
Me(Achilles is putting up a brave battle, but loosing. I run up the hill spamming SS2 with the best damage I can muster, trying to keep all 3 Rancor in the cone. It does not look good)
Him:"ok, I'll come to you. Where are you?"
Me(Achilles has gotten some status on the rancors. BE pets are a great thing . My SS2 and Achilles attacks finally drop one more. Its 2v2 now and Achilles has as much HAM as the second and the one chasing me is slowed by the hill. The tide has turned.)
