Thread: Mask Scent and Conceal

Hi all,
I'm a new Novice Rangerand would like to know more about the above 2 skills and how can I enhance it through clothing/armor attachments etc...
Also would like to know how they actually work and such ehheh, thanks!

I would suggest reading this FAQ on BE Tailored Clothing.

- Scent Neutralization (gives camouflage/maskscent bonus)
- Mimetic Circuitry (gives cover bonus)
In summary you would certainly need to find a BE and a tailor to make clothing for you with the above enhancements.
Unless of course you find / trade for clothing or armor attachement tapes that give the above abilities.
OT - are u really from Singapore? Is there a large Singaporean player base over in Tempest?

Thanks for the info. How does mask scent and conceal work? I mean sorta in details how does it affect the environment, camouflage etc.. reaction to NPCs and creatures etc..
Yes I am from Singapore 8) Most Singaporeans are in Flurry but not sure what happened to them (most of them moved on I heard). In Tempest there used to be about 10 of us, but most have gone inactive and/or moved out of SWG, hence dropped to around 5. Only left 3 of us that is active, the remaining 2 should be active by the time space expansion comes out (due to real life and other commitments).
The 3 of us are friends in real life hence we usually play together.
Yes we're a very small minority on the server but we're proud to experience the saga....... hehe
Our ping to the server is usually 250ms on average, just FYI hehe...

wow... that's quite a ping.. mine is usually les that 100 
so you made it to novice ranger without ever using /maskscent? Basically, /maskscent and /conceal are more or less the same. I believe /conceal works on NPCs though, although whether or not it's supposed to seems to be up for debate.
/conceal seems to last longer than /maskscent, although people have said that /maskscent is more reliable.
/conceal requires camo kits in order to function (you make it out of resources found on the planet whose camo kit you are trying to make), while /maskscent doesn't.
Am I missing anything? I'm sure I must be. Anyway, that's about what I can tell you.

From what I understand, /Maskscent gives more scouting XP then /Conceal does.

Seraph00X's description of how /conceal and /maskscent should be right. It has been so long since I dropped ranger - can't recall all them skills 
Yeh one of the reasons I dun recall /conceal much was coz we never did use it much. (not to mention the need for resources)
Think back then /conceal was broken or not working as intended. Could be wrong now.
OT: yes us overseas players generally have pings of 250. high but should still be sufficient for the 'twitch' play in JTL.

Thanks all for the valuable info, will try them out heheh. I did use maskscent and got scouting xp through it (didn't know in the beginning).

I have a feeling I'll be staying Ranger throughout the game
