Thread: Tracking Black Sun Spawns.

I have been searching for Black Sun spawns on Yavin. I have never seen them show up on track unless they were closer than 120m. When I move farther than approximately 120m away they despawn and stop showing up on track? I then move closer and they respawn.
Questions:
1. Doesn't this negate our tracking skill?
2. Is this what the Devs intended? (Bug?)
3. Do any other MOBs do this?
4. Does this only happen with spawns without a lair?
Anyone else notice this?

1) No this really doesnt negate it. Its one of the weaknesses of it. But its still a very useful tool in the ranger tree
2) Good question. Track picks up whats already spawned. Not whats getting ready to. Or will be tripped when we get there.
3) Quite a few creatures i track from greater 250m will do this. Just be gone when i get there. But its not all the time. Just some times

I had little luck using track on yavin. I always got beat out by ppl cruising around speeders and just searching. They would find one or two, hope off and start shooting. Nearly every time I got one on track, someone was fighting it by the time I got over to it.
I had much more luck on Endor. Within 1000m of the Bunker, you find all kinds of stuff on track. And there is so much of it, they arent being jumped on right away, and most people are going to the actual bunker.

atleast youve found some. ive been all over yavin and havent seen any.

Im not going to say its a static spwan, but up in NW by the LAKE and BIG mountain I have had alot of luck

thanks ill try that. honestly though one of my problems is that ill cruise around check out my map and realise that im only 5km away from the geonosian cave. having the attention span of a carrot makes it hard for me to do one thing for very long.

For wild lairs I see this effect on Radar but Tracking still shows stuff. The server has not despawned the wild lair, it's just they switched off sending you the data. Tracking still shows the critters around it, even though you can't see them.
I take it by your questioning, however, that this is not true of Black Sun spawns: the surver actually despawns them which is not charactoristic behavior for a wild spawn. You know, I have never tried leaving a mission lair and tracking it, maybe this is the problem. Are Black Sun spawns a dynamic mission w/o a WP or something? If true this would negate our skill. They doneed to be spawned or static for tracking to work.

(3) yes, some times.
Yesterday I tracked 4 BS 450m NE of my position. When I arroves, they were not there. I was2-3k E of the northern Post.

Yavin in the northwest corner...
I used tracking fairly successfuly... the trick i use, is everytime i fight a spawn of Black suns, i make a not of it on my data pad, the next day i return and areatrack.
I have killed easily a 100 of these dudes... and now all im missing are the gloves and boots. (got a +11 melee defense/ +7 cover pants the other day too, with 90000 condition)
If grouped, separate the group and speed in opposite directions, you will cover more ground and have more chance to find random spawns.

Ouch ! You've killed a hundred and havent got a full set yet :/ Unluck mate, i've killed about 25 and am just missing biceps !
By the way, i dont believe the mods on the armour carry over if you turn it into Mandalorian ... well it didnt on test or shadowfire anyway..

at one point i had 10 right biceps, 0 left biceps, 3 chests, 2 helms and 4 belts.
sigh... no boots or gloves yet..

hehe i just got really lucky, each i never looted a duplicate piece till i had everything but biceps (and belt, keep forgetting about that)
