Today I decided to fish while I was camping to get some wilderness xp. However, when I tried to place the camp, I got a message saying that a camp can't be placed in water. Is this new? I may have missed it since I haven't fished since I was working on the scout camping line. Anyways, has anyone else noticed this?

Camps technically can't be placed in water (and it's been like that for a while). But you can get the camp flooded if you do it just right (usually the High Quality Camp Kit is best for this). Just start in the water near a bank and slowly walk out of the water with a looping macro trying to open the camp (/ui action toolbarSlotXX;/macro setupcamp). If you get lucky, the camp will be set up in such a way that the camp level is below the water level and you can fish in the camp. It usually doesn't work but it does give you a very nice place to fish from.

i was just doing this earlier today. what i did was tried to make a camp while riding my bike. it worked fine, though its hard to judge where the center point of the camp will be. many times it ended up being too deep of water, so i could not fish.

I've always setup improved camp kits NEAR the shore(haven't made ranger yet), and walk to the waterline. I'm sitll in the 'camp zone' even if not inside the physical camp. Presumably thi can be done with all camp styles.
