What level creatures are you fighting?

What level are you and what exactly is the problem? ie, you can't do damage? you're taking too much damage? you're getting one hit killed by them?

Fight something level 70, or group with others who are 80. (you'll do more damage and take less)

You shouldn't be getting one hit killed by them (assuming you're wearing armor) if your target is CL72.
But it's still going to be a tough fight.

Use food... gruuvan, acarragm, brandy.. and don't take on more than one at a time if it's above your CL.

Look for green, blue and white con stuff... and take advantage of specials that root or snare.

Going back to your original post though:

You only seem to have one group of skills that gives any offensive capability. and that's at a comparatively low level. Both the ranger and CH skills are pushing your CL up without adding 'stopping power' or any sort of resilience.

Ranger currently offers no killing skills. I can't say for sure what you'd get with CH but afair all your killing skill comes from the critters?

One box of BH isn't going to be enough.

From your character sheet, what offence and defence levels are you? What weapons are you using and what sort of dps are you pushing out?

I also noticed that you've got the tracking line of ranger up to where you can track players. I'm at a lower CL than you but am fairly sure that, unless you could KD/stun a player, with the same profile as mine, fast you're going to get hit back hard and hit back fast.

Stopping shot isYOUR friend.

Before you do anything else, read through the descriptions of your combat abilities in the command browser, usually CTRL-A. Then read through the skill boxes for the skills you have. Go kill random spawns on Dantooine for practice.

Lastly, relax.

Phecnacine darts. One of a few traps that are working and quite well too. Toss one, pop off a few shots and toss another. Lather, rinse, repeat as neccessary.

The game is about tactics now. Now more standing there tanking and killing countless high lvl mobs. Use that smart ranger brain of your and work around the new system. It's much more gratifying than the old tank/shoot/kill method.

I got to get my eyes tested, lol. Totally missed the MPistols bit.

Should be plenty around that you can kill with a decent pistol, a bucket of traps and a bit of fire and movement. Especially with a couple of BH specials thrown in.
