Thread: Using Area Track on Rryatt Trail

Anyone else having issues with area track on the instanced Rryatt Trail? I'm seeing plenty coming up on area track around me that isn't showing up on the radar. I'm guessing I'm getting information from other instances of the trail as well as the one I'm actually on. Obviously that's something that will need to be fixed.

Something I have noticed is, on the overhead map, you can see the platforms and bridges of the level immediately above and below you. Perhaps you are tracking mobs on a different level? Either way...it makes aretrack difficult to use effectively.

On the Canopy level (lvl 3) at least, area track DEFINITELY is showing locations from all instances. I was on instance 1 and saw a quest NPC on area track. It turns out, that NPC was in instance 5 of the trail. I found that out by going to each one until I found him. After I killed him, he didn't show on area track anymore.

Is the whole "NPCs showing up under animals when you areatrack" thing on the daily bug list? (I honestly haven't seen the bug list yet. But I have /bugged that. I've done so much /bugging in the past week I'm starting to grow antennae. OH MY GOD I'M TURNING INTO A RODIAN.)

Hi - what's happening is this - there are holes in the canopy level and the creatures are falling through to floor, which is a big, flat plain -- not the 'shadow lands' level.

I know this because I apperently found one of these holes myself and ended up on the floor surrounded by tons of those things you have to kill to get the horn. I was within 5m of the final trail guide for the level too.

The same I think is happening to the spear-quest npc - he's falling down to the floor of the map and therefore still showing up on areatrack, but is no longer on the canopy level.

One other interesting artifact of this is that if you drop a camp on the canopy level it disappears and you get the "you have left the camp" message. I suspect that the camp is falling to the floor of the level as well.

I was on the trail earlier today at the very bottom. I did aeretrack for players to see if I was alone and some other guy is there about 450m e from me. I make it my mission to get to him with pissing anything off. i finally get to where he should be and do areatrack again. I'm 56m from him. where the hell is he. then it pops into my head. I do /target on his name and bam, there he is all prone and invisible. i send him a tell askind how well cover is working and he gets all wierd because i found him. gotta love areatrack.

I had the same issue last night. Was looking for a mister-styngie-something and there were none to be found. My areatrack, tho, said the place was crawling with them. I had some success with going to where the track said they were and then waiting, they would spawn eventually. That whole level of the trail was really lagging badly, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I also noticed that I was tracking a lot of creatures that showed up as being beyond the trail borders. That was semi-annoying.

I also noticed that my track wasn't distingushing between animals and people. No matter which I selected, both came up.
