Hi all,

Been tinkering about with the respec thing, tonights my last run at it and I'll be going back to

Master Rifles
Ranger 0010/0001
BH 0040

Just curious, but what templates are you guys settling on and what offence/defence mods do you get?

I was going to be MRifle, Carbine 0/0/3/0 with as much Ranger as I could...

I've decided to stick with MRifle / MRanger though because its just too much fun.

I like charge shot alot but the extra SP that I need to invest in order to get the special is just too much. I'll just use crates of P-Darts and hope that I can survive the time needed to get that one extra damage dealing shot off.

I am sticking with MRanger/TKM, I am very happy with it, no more armor 'YEA'.

I keep wanting to respec to Master BH, Master Carbines, 4344 Scout and Novice Medic, but I can't bring myself to drop Ranger.

I like the idea being a BH, as in my character progresses onto hunting people after spending so long mastering the hunt of creatures. However, I'm not sure that me the player really wants to get into the nitty gritty of BH detective work, also add on to this, that every time I log in and see how awful the combat revamp (no, it isn't an upgrade) is, I just feel sick and depressed.

I didn't use buffs or uber armour, so why did the combat revamp have to spoil my game?

I feel very FotM at the moment, but I ditched ranger - it hurt but I am tired of being a martyr. Currently MBH, MCarb, 0400 SL, 4004 Scout and 0044 Marksman and loving it.

I too am stickingwith my template of Master Ranger/Master Rifleman. It does still work. If we can get the bugs the CU brought in fixed tbh we are not really any different that pre-CU. We have always been lacking in our combat skills but we still chose Ranger then.

Okay, here's what I finally settled on (unless I have another chance to respec today in which case am going back to MRM/ranger0001/BH0040 which has really high ranged speed, better than good ranged def and higher than avereged melee defs..)

MBH/Ranger0001/Rifles0040 (might be 0400 or 0004, but anyhow it's just one line)

I've got a note somewhere of the RA/RS and MD/RD figures for the different comboes (MCH sucks btw, nil offence abilities, really awful melee defence) but basically, while the above doesn't have the speed or defence of the rifleman variants I tried, it does have some really devastating attacks.

Stun them, dizzy them, stick them to the ground with your traps, then seriously rip into them with torso shots....

...you'd think I'd be happy but I miss my T21 and the big cannon sound it makes now!!

Well, I dropped ranger on my main. I went to Master Rifles, Master Carbines, 0404 BH (carbine and rifle lines).

With a rifle equipped:
Speed: 120
Accuracy: 298
Melee Defense: 175
Ranged Defense: 244

With a carbine equipped:
Speed: 105
Accuracy: 278
Melee Defense: 185
Ranged Defense: 254

This doesn't include my +20 FS melee defense, backpack mods (ranged mods + defense), and BE shirt mods (melee/ranged defense), which brings my melee defense to over 200.

Unfortunately, ranger's lack of offense/defense mods will keep me from going back until that changes. Plus, I'm really enjoying the large amount of special attacks.

I thought it might be a boring template at first (all weapons, no real "profession"), but I'm having more fun than I have in a long time. I still have TN, the ability to harvest, and at least place a small camp. (I'm starting to like the basic camps)

I'm fully mitigated for battle and recon armor, can wear assault armor (with a little hindrance)... I put up my "Soldier" tag and can now play a high damage dealing Storm or scout trooper, and still hunt for and sell resources when I feel like it.

I've been wondering exactly how much difference these defense mods actually make in this new 'level' based system. I can see them having a greater effect in pvptbh.
