Thread: Fan fest is coming, let's make use of it

Last year at fan fest Ranger's, Scout's and Creature Handlers all got a 1 hour forum together. While it was interesting to hear the concerns of the CH, it didn't affect me at all, although I'm sure Calc got alot out of it. This year Scouts and Rangers have a whole hour dedicated to themselves. I expect everyone going to be there at 4pm Saturday afternoon. Let's justpray that GreenMarine can sit in again and have some hope for us.

So need to have a series of questions that we want to put forth as a community to make sure we get answered, not just glossed over. I for one would like to see apublish schedule posted again, but we can ask that in one of the general forums rather than take up OUR time.

It would also be nice to have a re-write of the ranger list by galaxy because I'm sure a number of those people have left the game, or forgotten their Ranger skills. At this point I would estimate there are more Image Designers in the game than MasterRangers.

What do we want to ask in person? Be sure your questions are fair and not emotional, someone will have to stand up and ask these questions to a real person who probably doesn't deserve our ire.

Sadly, I can't make it. My parents already think I'm addicted .

However, this is one question that I would like answered:

With the implementation of camo kits being usable by all players now, and the alteration of npc / creature AI, are the Camoflauge and Scent-masking skills of Ranger and Scout professions, respectively, going to be altered to conform with their current uselessness for characters of a high combat level in comparison the the enemies they usually face?

I hope someone from the forums can make it.. Maybe show up and present some questions from the ranger forum, or this thread.

I went to FF last year, but my wife got off work late and we just missed the scout/ranger/ch forum.

The 4pm saturday time is a little worrying though. Last year it was 2pm on a Friday.. I remember that a couple of panels got dropped Saturday afternoon because it was close to the dinner and other panels had run long. Hopefully that won't happen to ours this year.

It will definitely be interesting to hear what's discussed in the panel this year.

If you go ask the devs or the representive (if the other players havn't ganked em yet) when the estimated release date for the ranger revamp will be.

Galik A. (main)- Master CH (Ret.) and Master Ranger, Master Bounty Hunter
Blowfin A. (craftbot with a soul)- Master BE and working on (Undecided)

I'm in Anaheim for 4 days for the event driving from San Jose Thursday, back Sunday. I would be happy to take the opportunity to speak for the last of the Rangers.

And on that note, last year they had white boards up by registration that people did a little graffiti on all weekend. I got the first note up that said, "There are more Jedi than Rangers." To which Holocron quoted during dinner friday night. I've been trying to think of something else to put up this time...

I'm still a newb at PR events for SOE. Is this something done via Internet, or would I have to physically be in Anaheim?

I so wish I could go. I'd probably ask an open-ended question, such as "what is the number one skill YOU would like to see implemented for Rangers in the revamp?" I'd love to hear a developer talk as excitedly about the Ranger profession as we do.

This isfrom the previous 19 questions posts that Thunderheart used to do. They would group professions into 2 separate weeks, and each week would answer a question that came from each profession's correspondent. Red and boldedis TH's responses to the question.

Ranger - 6-3-04
Do the developers consider any part of the "Outdoorsman" proposal viable? If so, which parts might possibly be implemented in the future?

Absolutely. I am a fan of the "Outdoorsman" proposal presented by the Ranger community and whenever an opportunity comes up, I have pushed it as an issue and will continue to do so.

I remember the questions.... are you saying you think this means the Outdoorsman is the number one thing they want to see implemented? I think that is a bit of a stretch. /grin Besides, the Outdoorsman would qualify as a hella lot of things, not just one.

Just sayin', maybe we should push it as an issue? And continue to do so?
