Thread: Creature Resource Pricing
Also, pricing is still settling into a post-cu environment.
But, as a good rule, creature harvest sell for plenty more than mined resources. So the knob who wants to pay 3 CPU for iron and expect the same on the hide and meat is a knob.
I'm finding that resources are selling for 10-25 CPU on Naritus. My BE alt paid 27.5 CPU for some stuff and I'm really feeling like I overpaid. On my server, I'm starting to think that 15 CPU is a good average to go by.
I would agree with the Merovingian, prices are still settling down, but over all they seem to about 40% lower that pre-CU prices on a CPU-basis. However, because harvest rates are now sky high for a Master Rangers, revenues in general are up overall on a credits-per-hour-spend-hunting basis. The addition of the recyclers as helped as well. It doesn't take long to rack up a 100k stack of recycled, grind quality hide while running quests and even these seem to sell well at about 10 cpu where as before, they would have sold in smaller stacks for 2-5 cpu.
Over all, while the market has most certainly shifted, it has definitely improved. If for no other reason (and there are several) than because the CU has shaken up the market and that has allow many new opportunities to present themselves.
Hope this helps.
I have never known pricing for my hides, bones and meat...Unfortunately after reading your post, I have been selling way under price....I hunt for fun and xp, gathering resources was just an extra...Unless it is a really hard kill ( Krayt, Graul, Kimo...or something of the sort ) i sell my harvests for 1 - 3 cpu. The more rare or challenging harvest I sell for 5 - 10 cpu... Just curious, why sell so high priced? It has never cost me anything to hunt...Now if a merchant or artisan hires me to harvest and sets a price alot higher than what I would normally do, then of course I take their price...
I am sorry if my pricing starts static...I am willing to change to make the Ranger community at a more equal standing from server to server. ( now I know why all stuff sells so fast lol )
Does anyone know what stats are used now...Is it still OQ ? I have priced some resources, completly on stats...Like all stats in the 800 - 900s I will sell for 15 - 20 cpu.

Well the thing is, there are other things to do that just hunt specific resources. Plain hide, doesn't matter what it is, maybe yeah, 2 cpu. But if I have to go out of my way to find a certain type, then I think it's a waste of my time to harvest for 2 cpu.
Then again, I have a better idea now what to ask for them. Thanks guys ![]()
Couple questions:
1) If something is below 800 OQ is it basically worthless (all other stats being equal)? Only good for grinding? Would meat that is only 200 OQ be basically worth as much as 800 OQ because neither is uber?
2) Where to sell? Team up with a vendor, use the bazaar, or start a private auction on the trade forums?

I was just wondering this myself. I was just cleaning house, and have never sold any of my meats or hides unless I was specifically hunting for someone. Considering I've been MRanger since I started until recently, that means I have ALOT of miscelaneous resources taking up my entire bank deposit and a small naboo house. And that's after I got rid of the stacks that were 200 and below. The question I have is, how to get rid of it and how much to ask?

In general, big stacks are worth more. As a crafter, a stack size that lets you do a FULL factory run is far more valuable then a stack half that size. For small stacks of stuff, I usually just throw it in my recycler and consider it grind quality. Again, stack size matters - therefore a big stack of crap resources is better then 19 small stacks of mediocre resources. I know it feels weired to destroy 130 units of a great resource, but it's just not worth anything in that quantity.
You can get rid of these random stacks of stuff by finding a vendor to sell them for you, using the bazaar, or finding a buyer directly. I recomend the last two options over the first though.
