Ranger Archive

Hunt with fellow rangers. You will be getting hunting bonuses from each other! I know most of you probably know this, but I thought I would let those who don't know about it

If only there were any others left to team up with I was guild leader of the Antarian Rangers on Farstar, but I had to disband the guild due to members leaving SWG/respecing out of Rangerdue to the CU's impact on the Ranger way of life. I recently posted on my galaxies forum to try and find more rangers on my server but the only replies were from people telling me they had dropped ranger. I think there's me and Dariane now and maybe about 3 others that I'm currently aware of on Farstar.

I have found on that on Naritus, many of the Rangers of old have indeed left. But! I'm finding there are actually LOTS of NEW rangers poking around. The ticky thing is that new rangers often don't know about things like the RIN, don't visit the forums, and have guilds/networks of their own. The challenge then, is to bring them into the fold of your galaxy's Ranger community. I've got an email typed up that describes the RIN, what it is, and how to join. When I see someone wearing a MR tag, I say hi and fire off an email to them. I've met lots of new rangers who have recently picked up the prof and are enjoying it. Kinda refreshing after the grumpyness I often feel.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I did that for a while.. actually had it typed up in my /notepad, with colored fonts and stuff, so it was easy to copy/paste to any new ranger I saw.. or even crafters or others looking for ranger services. I listed the who/what/how/why of it, along with a few commands (like /chatr who rin to list other members) and other stuff, and asked people to forward it to other rangers or crafters they might know.

I rarely send it out now, since I almost never get a response these days and it's even less likely that I see someone show up in RIN. I guess I got tired of trying to strike up conversations with other rangers, only to find out they were just someone's "hunting" alt for their crafter.

RIN, on kauri, is almost officially dead. It was really thriving around this time last year.. but for some reason or another, it just got less and less active, month by month starting last august.. Several crafters have quit the game, or just stopped using RIN. It's a shame, since so many people - even regular scouts and hunters - could benefit from it, especially with the group harvest bonuses.

The Naritus RIN had a period a couple months back where it was almost always busy. Things slowed down quite a bit for a while, but it seems to be picking back up again. And while some of the regulars do appear to be gone, Cryos is right-- we are getting an awful lot of new blood showing up. Some aren't even respec.

A lot of the old guard remain, though. Cryos, Unjor, Circe', Mot', Bal, Jaxus, Zetargos,Oceas,me... the Naritus Ranger population isnearly as healthy as it ever was.

lo0l yeah i was a ranger a lil bit ago then droped it for something (cant remember) and then in the respec i took agine but then droped to get rifleman. But now i have droped CH to go for ranger and im almost done! now if i could just find a ranger guild on chilastra.........

I did not know anything about RIN for a while until going to my first GRM. Since then I check my server and found two RIN channels. Saddly, I am the only one ever on it during my play times. In fact, after searching on a daily basis, I have only come across 2 other Rangers on Radiant and only one of them use RIN...It is a lonely Ranger world on Radiant....I will continue to play Ranger and keep my MR tag up no matter what SOE throws at me...

As far as teaming up.....Everytime I am online, I make an attempt to contact both other Rangers...
