We were discussing this in another thread, but I lost the thread and Search is broken--but I think this qualifies as being threadworthy anyway.

Anyway. We were talking about the rate of HTFB healing vs. hospital healing. It sounded like they were quite comparable, maybe with the hospital having a slight edge on an hourly basis. So, I decided to test this out.

5:11 am: I set up a camp in the middle of nowhere, a shiny HTFB with a view of the Jawa Traders Village. I have a seat on the ground and go AFK, figuring the game will log me out in an hour or so. My wounds are at 231.

6:02 am: My camp disbands itself.

3:45 pm: I return to the computer, surprised to find myself still logged in, still standing in the desert. Strange that. Anyway, I check my wounds, and... 232? They went up? I scroll up and darn it if a CL11 syck didn't agro my CL80 Ranger at 9:36 am, chewing on me for five minutes until I was incapped. As you don't get the "You've taken X in wound" message now, I have no way to tell how many wounds he gave me--one, two, four, what.

3:51 pm: After ogling this, I set up a new camp and stand in it.

4:09 pm: No change in wounds. Maybe I need to be sitting. I decide to kill that danged syck, and his little friend, too.

4:14 pm: New camp set up. I sit again, this time in one of the chairs, and I mark the time. And wait.

4:44 pm: I'm typing this post as the thirty-minute mark goes by, so I check my wounds, and.... 232. No change. I disband the camp, log out and back in in case I'm bugged. (I've had the "dizzy" animation but no state for 11 hours by now.)

4:46 pm: New camp. I sit. I wait.

5:17pm: No change. Still 232.

There you have it. Either I'm bugged or our camps don't heal.

After an unfortunate encounter with a GDK last night, I woke up in a cloning vat with 100 wounds. Sometime later I set up a HTFB, and after five minutes or so I was down to 88 wounds. So they're still healing me, at least.

I also ran across a pair of gurk whelps that were hanging out in their own basic camp. Instead of a campfire, though, it had a little pile of humanoid skulls. Which was odd, considering that gurks are herbivores. Anyway, they appear to be continuing to evolve before our very eyes. Gurks. I don't trust 'em.

I'll try again laster today, then, in case I'm bugged. I wasn't really surprised to see zero healing, though. :/

Your experience is strange but I was healing wounds I week ago using HTFB. Now unless something changed with pub 17 then it should still work ...

Maybe battle fatigue affects healing rate? Did you have a lot of BF?

I had single-digit BF. Maybe because my wounds were as high as they were?

I healed down to about 210 or so in a hospital. I'm about to go try again. Will report back.

I just realized I've been ignoring my wounds box and staring at the BF one. I'll just be digging a hole and crawling into it now...

PreCU I found that my wounds would heal 5 every 2.5ish minutes in a HTFB. This was with 105+ Camping mods. I dunno if thats the same or not now.

I think the HTFB healing rate should be as fast, or even faster, than a TKM's meditation healing rate. We certainly use more skillpoints than those guys.
