How to hunt for scaley hide on Talus:

1. Go to Talus

2. Look at Mission term. and laugh.

3. Walk out into the realm of Rangers and "hunt".

I dunno about your server, but on Eclipse, you can drive from Nashal to Dearic and never see more than a handful of pirates. The exception there is around active cities, where you'll find newbie critters or the occasional Huf Dun. The spawn situation there is awful.

I usually get most of my talusian scaley hide north of the imperial outpost. That place is always crawling with creatures whenever I visit that planet.

im not a ranger.....yet but i do do a lot of hunts and heres my solution to the problem

1)go to Talus

2)get on a mount, bike, or speeder

and

3)kill every living animal you see, your bound to find what your looking for lol

I have found in my exploration that around the edges/end of the planet maps there are static spawns that are there to discourage people from hitting the invisible wall there. I used to hunt the edges of Endor when Endor wooly was uber and found lots of gurrecks and mantigrues there. Its worth a shot.

My apologies for my joke...I got on the Eclipes server and traveled from one end of the map to the other on Talus. After two and a half hours of traveling and searching I only came across 5 spawns...2 were CL 3 and the others were all CL 70-82s...and the 70-80s were pirates..

I have no idea why Eclipes >Talus is so empty....I play on Radiant with my main and it is never that barren...So I think you were right about getting a lower level to pull missions then group with them and the hunt is on...
