I just started posting in the ranger forum, but I can already see that this one of the best communites in the game. Alot of other professions are full of whining, stats on weapons, and tips on grinding. You guys know each other and are always nice. I think I am going to really enjoy being a ranger.

I've been playing for over a year, and just recently took my combat toon to the ranger proffession and wish I had done it earlier! Ranger has gotta be the best profession out there!
Question though....
I am currently master ranger / master rifles.... is there a better combat prof to go along with ranger?

Depends on your play style. Rifles/Ranger complements each other well. There is no "Best" combat profession with Ranger.

Carbineer is the best!!! Bestest! Bestitude!! Bestiferous!!
Actually Rifles are pretty good too. And with the loss of Master Marksman as a pre-req for Bounty Hunter, it's become a decent backup to Ranger too, even giving you a few more skill points to spare.

I dunno, like I said I'm rifles, and I use conceal / cover shot, all that, and the creatures still charge at me like I am not even hidden... am I doing something wrong?

Concealshot is a chance to conceal your shot so its never a you will not get agro shot.
Best way to go is open with sniper shot than phec trap it or ad mesh (once it works) then headshot away till dead.

When hunting solo, I use /conceal, cammo helps you get away from some extra aggros once discovered. Then /cover, when covered I used my conceal shot. Usually get 2 or 3 of those in before discovery. Throw a trap and run! if they are bigger than that..hehe.
The Ranger's cammo skill used to give us this benefit(/cover), but others saw fit to take it away and give to rifles. We would normally getin 3 or 4 and moreshots before they broke conceal/cammo. I used to take out whole lairs and not get discovered. Now, armor is a necessity.
