DAMN!!!1!! I knew there was something I HADN'T done yet!!
you know, i'm wondering if actually grinding through to master ranger is part of it as we've seen a few of these posts lately from respecers wondering what's so great about ranger. admittedly, i wasn't all that excited about ranger when i first started grinding it, but it was really the only profession that appealed to me. going through, it though, learning the ins and outs of the profession itself as well as the other people who chose this lifestyle for themselves made me like it even more. of course, i never had any desire to be uber or l33t or anything like that....i just wanted to have fun with the game.
sure there are a lot of areas that we need work on, but the idea of ranger in and of itself...that being that we can travel anywhere and hunt the best and sell resources and people turn to us when they have questions about animals and tracking and etc. etc.....i don't know. it's not the actual specs of the profession itself that appeals to me....it's the idea behind it. and that's why i stick with it and, regardless of how other people in the game may feel that i have 'wasted' my sp, i'm proud of my master ranger tag.

I agree. I think its the journey to Master Ranger where we learn so much.
And I want to say to the original poster thank you for the compliment. I think all of us here are very proud of what we do. So proud we won't give it up.
I am another Master Ranger very proud of my Master tag.
There is a great freedom to being a ranger. You can explore every place there is to explore alone, or bring a group safely through perilous territories. I wrote this for my ranger Atheren on Bria:
Rangers are the true adventurers. They follow all the paths of men and beast and make their own paths as needed. Home is where they are. A ranger is guardian and protector of the land and those who travel it. A ranger must be brave, tireless and true of spirit. In the firelight of a rangers camp you will find friendship and an easing of your burdens, so sit and tell your tale, and rest in safety through the night.
