Thread: Camo and Mask scent question

Hi folks,
I am currently grinding my way over to the ranger forums and am trying to learn as much as i can about being a ranger.
My question is when you use a camo kit, and mask scent with it... how would you rate the amount of evasion that this allows when trying to sneak past npc/creatures
1 being a fat man hiding behind a firepole
10 being a ninja skinny as a firepole hiding behind a fat man
I just am trying to get at the effectiveness of this skill, i just cant wait th e2 days it will take me to grind to ranger

well, you can only do one or the other - that is, if you're already mask-scented, you can't be camo'ed at the same time.
I would say maybe 5 or 6, which is to say a fat monkey hiding behind a thin wookie.

While i like your rating system... you can't use Camo and Mask scent at the same time.. one or the other... and i think camo works better, when it works

firstly,
camo and mask scent dont stack, so you really cant use them together (if i understand your question)
with camo + master ranger, i can walk among krayts, nightsisters, stormtroopers... pretty much anything with impunity.
it only breaks occasionally, and camo doesnt really work in caves or instances.
mask scent only works vs. critters, while camo works vs. npc's too.
they both work pretty well... with camo, i walked up to 6 nightsisters and they never saw me, i /petted an ancient krayt.
with mask scent, both of those would be impossible.

right, while it does work, its not as consistent in caves or instances.

Well this got me all inspired.. so i took my Ranger to Tatooine, and logged out near the krayt graveyard. That way when i play tomarrow morning (i.e. the wife is at work) i can load in and find the nearest Krayt and see if i can solo it, which i'm a Ranger, of course i can. Then i will screenshot it and mount it on my wall.

Ok so in caves camo doesnt work, is that all the time or sometimes...
I have a few hard to reach places i would like to scratch in the bottom of a cave or 2 thats the reason why i ask.

I have found that it does work in caves, such as the Warren. Unless their is a new bug or something, but remember the mob's in these special places are usually stronger than their counterparts in the wilds. It will break more often, but it does work. This is the hard part about both camo and mask scent.....you must 'walk' for the max. effect (not sure about crawl'n, never read or tested it). I have found that I have more success in my flash speeder, as opposed to my swoop (the flash speeder being the slower), as well.

just out of curiousity, what types of skills would you use to solo a krayt?
