I hopethat the correspondent and the devs will read this. This ability would make Ranger alot more fun and alot more economical. One word.....

TAXIDERMY

We are supposed to be the elite hunters of the game, and as such we should have something tangible to show for it. Let us stuff and mount trophies of our kills to decorate our homes and guildhalls. Let other players come to us with their kills for taxidermy service. The better a Ranger gets with taxidermy, the more expressive the pose he/she can put the creature in.

Along with this ability allow us the option of harvesting specific hides from exotic creatures to be sold to furniture makers and tailors for the purpose of more exotic products (the Star Wars equivalent of leopard skin furniture and alligator skin boots).

I'm almost certain this has been mentioned before but I felt it needed repeating.

I proposed this Monday. It should be added to the Bioscience tree as a level 3 skill. It should be build around higher level mobs dropping heads on rate of maybe 200 : 1. Only Rangers would have the ablity to convert those heads into trophies suitablefor mounting on wall hooks. It would be a nice niche income source that would help fill out the Ranger class' secondary skills.

I'd also like to see Camp Cooking added to Frontiering 2 or 3 - the concept being that while in camp, a Ranger could improve foraged foods - though they would always be inferior to Chef foodstuffs. Again, a nice secondary Ranger skill.

Finally, I'd like to see Novice Scout get a crafting machine to craft traps with. At Ranger level, it could be used to craft the trophies and the foraged foods. Artisans could make the machines. I do NOT favor permitting the Scout crafting machine the ability to craft camps - it would be nice, but I don't think Rangers should be completely independent of other classes.

Ciao.

How about at Master level gaining the ability to stuff and mount entire creatures?

They could implement a feature similar to the character creation screen whereby the creature could be posed in whatever fashion suits the ranger and/or client and then placed on top of a display.

I'm not sure taxedermy would be helpful. If you want critters in your house, got hit up a Bio Engineer. They can make you live critters for you house/hall.

But I like the idea of exotic skins, hides, feathers, etc, for even more cool clothes and furniture.

Falryk, the idea has merit for two reasons:

1. It grants an additional secondary skill to the profession that's not intended to be class-defining, just a little something extra to add that sense of immersion to both the game and the profession.

2. Give Rangers a niche market that only they can cater too. Mounted trophies on the wall of the highest level mobs in the game has anentirely different appealthen a baby pet running around at your feet.

Heh I reckon it'd be good to run in someones front door and see a Rancor posed as if it's going to make a toothpick out of your legs. See how many people run back out before they realise it's dead
