Hi! I am dropping my Bio-Eng skills and going for Ranger instead. One thing that I think would be great for both Ranger and Bio-Engineer is if we could harvest stuff from creatures that Bio-Eng's can sample DNA from. Something like "Creature Essence" or "Marrow" or something like that.

That way BE's don't have to spend a lot of points in combat and scout abilities to be able to go to high level planets to sample good quality DNA, and we have something we can sell besides bone/hide/meat.

Goes without saying that only Rangers could get this material

This is an outstanding idea.

If you kill something you should be able to get dna from it, right? DNA is in every cell produced by the body.

And when you think of Bio-Engineer you think of a lab coat guy or girl. Not someone camoflauged in the bush slow-crawling up to a Rancor.

Totally agree. Would make things a lot more simple for the science geeks and another purpose for the Rangers.

howdy, Im currently a BERCH. That's Bio-Engineer Ranger Creature Handler (novice CH anyways). The level 4 mastery title we get for DNA sampling is "Field Scientist". So I think they had literally lost their minds when they created us.

Actually, it's more like this:

Science Geek: I'll pay you 5k to go to Dathomir and get a blood sample from a big bad creature

You: 5k? ARE YOU MAD? It costs me more than that just to get there, let alone getting back! Not to mention, have you ever been to Dathomir? I wet my pants the last time I went there. I was told i could get uber money from easy missions, but I get there and the Baz Nitches were using something called a "nerf" to eat me alive! YOU COULDN'T PAY ME ENOUGH TO GO BACK THERE!!

Science Geek: Ok. 5500.

You: You're NOT LISTENING to me are you? There is no way I'm going back there until I find out what these "nerfs" are and how to stop them.

Science Geek: 6k?

You: you buying the tickets?

Science Geek: sure.

You: and maybe clone me a Twi'Leck dancer when I get back?

Science Geek: we'll see. no promises.

You: Deal.

Good idea, by the way, I like it. It gives Rangers something to harvest that Scouts can't get.

You: OMG! Dathomir was insane( AGAIN ). I died 4 timesgetting you damm DNA off some flying thing i hav never seen before!!!

Bio Engineer: *evil bored glare at you*

You: HEY!Where is my dancing girl?

Bio Engineer: They were all booked! I have many rich clients who are low level CHs whit money coming out the place where the suns don't shine. Hurry up I need to fill my orders!

You: It is time for a new deal! I keep want a copy of the DNA!

Bio Engineer: Arrgggghhhh! That wasn't part of the deal! Gimme gimmme gimmme!

You: Quit your wining and make me a copy of the DNA! If i don't get it I will make it my goal to ruin your online experience!

Bio Engineer: Fine, fine. Here you go! Now get out of my shop you primitive hunting barbarian!!!

You: muahahahah. The bio nerd in Mos eisly will give me 10k for this! muahahahahahah

Anothertwist could be that as you go up the Ranger harvesting line, you get more "potent" blood or marrow or whatever that either gives better DNA sample results or more samples.

Oh well. Here's hoping
