Thread: How much should I charge for my time?

So I find this awesome hide the day after the patch. So awesome, in fact, that it's the best I've ever seen, and it's the best every armorsmith I've talked to has seen.

So tell me, why should I charge 3-5 credits per hide if it's that good? I spend hours (literally, all day without stopping) collecting the hide since the mobs deathblow and take a long time to take down, and for 20k worth of hide you'll pay me 100k. I find this UNACCEPTABLE.

20k worth of hide will last them weeks, and if they're at master level they'll make over a million in profit using my hide. I refuse to be paid 3-5 credits per, I should be paid 10 credits per.

The hide's stats:

OQ 1000

SR 856

Mal 731

I now have 30k of this, and for hide this good, it's worth well over 3-5 credits.

You should be. I supply to a guy an scylla that would pay 10 per on that. BTW what planet, what type of hide is that?

That hide is worth at least 30 cpu IMO. I have sold muchlower quality hide for 15 cpu. Do not take any offer less than that.

Yes that hide is worth a minimum 20 credits a unit but being that it is leathery hide it may be harder to sell as most smiths need bristley or wooly as it is used in the higher end items. I would suggest posting the stats and start an auction on your server forum.

No less than 15c/unit, but try auction it for to 5-10 master armorsmiths in-game or just auction it on the galaxy forum...

I don't know how absolutely useful bristley is, but over on Bloodfin, we harvested a very similar quality wooly hide, and were getting up to 75c per unit for it (wooly is in high demand by armorsmiths). I know a lot of rangers get stuck in a pricing rut, but you really should stop charging 5c per unit for organics (except maybe "junk" meat that is going to be used for grinding. Only go after the quality stuff, and sell only to the highest bidder. I NEVER sell anything quality for less than 10c a unit now. Let the crafters know that this stuff actually takes EFFORT to collect (cant just place a harvester), and that you deserve to be well paid for your efforts.

I sell a ton of resources and that would move for 20 per unit EASY on Gorath. The larger the stack the more attractive because one schematic can be used for awhile.

In fact, you could probably get more then that......

Yur right......yu get that kind of Wooly and it will sell HUGE.

And yes......10 credits per resource for stacks over 1000 units is actually low. Start using a standard rate....maybe 20 per unit on OQ/DR greater then 850. If one of these stats is low go 10-15. Stuff witrh really low stats move at 5 for someone to grind....plus yu will get them back when they need high end stuff.

Bristley? I have a ton of very good bristley but haven't bothered trying to sell it as my understanding is that it is only used in Tantel. What else is it good for?

Tailors use a lot of Bristley but quality doesn't mean as much to them as it does to an Armorsmith or BE.
