Ranger Archive
Thread: Okay, decision time.
So I'm currently at 4-2-4-3 with my ranger skills, but I"m seriously thinking of giving up all the wayfaring and trapping lines to become a creature handler. I also have pistoleer and medic skills.
So should I do it? I've worked pretty hard up to this point, yet I don't naturally use traps and conceal is nothing for me. I love harvesting, so tracking stays, and I dig on the cool camps so I'm locked up there. No need to worry about advancing up frontiering any time soon as it will be approximately three years and as many expansions before that goes anywhere.
Creature handling is piquing my interest at the moment, and I think I could get pretty high up a couple of the lines be giving up some medic skills and focusing only on a couple pistoleer bars. It would also help my hunting, as well as give me more opportunity to explore far out regions solo with less worry.
On the flip side, it's been a lot of work to get where I am, and I really wanted master ranger.
I think I've already answered my own question, but I'd love a little help to deal with any buyer's remorse I may be feeling very soon.
Thoughts? If you think I should go for CH, and you are one yourself, what are the best lines to focus on?
I was you. Here is what I did.
I found a bio-engeneer that had a ton of stim pack c's on his vendor and bought them all. I then dropped medic entirely. With pets as your meat sheild you hardly ever need to heal yourself.
My Template is Master Ranger. Master Ch. Pistoleer up to and including stopping shot.
It works very well for me. With ample supplies of pet stims I have no problem keeping my pets healed.I tweaked my Action bars so that it regens as much as human Charactor will allow.
As a side note there really is no need to go beyond 3-2-0-0 in CH. You can then weild a Graul Mauler as a pet and they are unsurpassed as the best PVE tank in the game.
If you go 3-2-0-0 in CH that would allow you to increase your pistol or whatever ranged you choose or even keep medic.
Either way pets are very needed as a tank if you plan to travel solo alot and hunt big game.
