Thread: tracking and harvesting

is it just me or should a master ranger be able to harvest 900+ on OQ regardless of the animal or least higher of what they worth
In a word - No. I must disagree with this for a couple of reasons.
1.) Not all creatures are born with perfect muscles and perfect bones. Sickness and decay can easily damage pristine quality of creature resources. Creatures in good health should not necessarily be rare, but they also should not be so abundant that Master Rangers can just harvest high quality resources at will. There should be a bit of a hunt for decent quality animals... hence thenature of ourprofession.
2.) Using the argument Arisen wrote, then what is to stop Surveyors or Master Artisans from demanding that they automatically be able to harvest 900 OQ off of any resource? What's the point of the game if everything gets handed to everyone?
However... I must agree with Arisen on the tracking idea. I think that something similar to a way point... or as I had suggested earlier - the ability to see the scent of a trail (much like the Toucan in the Fruit Loop commercials) would not be farfetched - and would actually make Master Ranger more desirable to achieve.

No on the harvesting, the current system with resources makes knowledge a prime resource, knowing where to get a certain resource, then tracking it down makes you valuable as a ranger.
No arrows to tracking please, it's too automatic, but a command to repeat last tracking would be nice, like "/areatrack animals" for example.
