Thread: Economy is taking a turn for the worst?
I usually collect OQ Hides over 900 and usually sell them on the bazaar's. But the last 2 weeks I have only sold very few stacks of hides and the last two night in seeking to sell these faster I contacted some armorsmiths I have met in the past regarding selling my stock. So far the highest amount I can get for any hides I have is less then 5 cr per, and one guy only offered me 1 cr per.
So my question I guess is what should I expect to get as a fair price for my stocks, and "if you are a armorsmith", why do you feel what you would offer me is a "Fair price".
Ok, I too am not a happy camper about how much people are willing to pay for my stuff. So quite simply, I am not selling anything except to one person, who is cool and gives me free stuff. The rest is stockpiling in the bank.. hides are well over 10k now and growing by small leaps and little bounds.
If we don't want to buy at my prices, which are low enough as it is, screw em... not like the stuff is gonna rot. I am also stockpiling metals, ores, poly, fiberplast, and whatever elseI run across. I will run missions on Dathomir to support my weapons habit...3 people, 6 missions, 25k per mission... yeah, money is taken care of.
I paid 7k for a pair of enhanced pants, and they want to pay 10c per egg... not this week. 4cpu for metal, nope, sorry, it will sit in the machine tyvm.
And if no one ever is willing to pay what I want, what I will do is give the stuff away to novices and help them out.

Don't sell on the bazaar. It's a waste of time. Ask around, find a master chef, artisan, weaponsmith, and armorsmith (or multiple of each) and when you run across high quality resources, offer it to each and barter the price between them. If it's good enough, they'll pay for it. I just don't think they're going to go to the bazaar when they probably have other suppliers as well. Could be different in your galaxy, but it works in some.

Raanan is right. I had a 4k stack of wooly hide that was amazing. Was selling it for 30cr/unit before the resource shift... but after the shift i sold the entire stack for 170k. I'm sure i could've found someone to buy it at 50, but i sold it to one of my regulars... gave a discount.
Save the awesome stuff for after the shift and pray to God that the shift doesn't pump out something better. =)
For whatever reason there appears to be a glut on Tarquinas, or people just aren't buying like they used to. I've had the same problem with hides and meat... lately I've just been throwing the stuff up on the PA vendor for next to nothing. I figure if there's no money to be made, at least by PA brethren ought to benefit...

This is an old problem that is re-surfacing.......there are those that sell their organics at below bargin prices and in their minds they believe they are helping the prices of things (armor, meds, etc) when in fact the prices dont fall. Lets look at Composite armor. There were some folks selling a helm for 70K. I am not sure what resources go into that but I am sure at some point there are organics involved. I am willing to bet that they paid less than 3 c/u on their organics. If all the organics gatherers would put their foot down and say enough is enough....then we would get the prices we deserve. I refuse to make someone elses rich at my expense. I will hold onto my High quality stuff until I find a buyer that appreciates my time and efforts.
Someone else posted a while back this same idea and I have to agree with them. I think those that sell their items for less than what the stuff is worth is hurting all of us and not improving the economy. They are just making the smithies richer with a larger profit margin. It is a no brainer.
