Thread: Results of Testing Areatrack & Pets, Rescue.
Areatrack
Not too long ago, an SL came over and asked if areatrack could track pets. Most everyone responded that we could. However, I had remembered reading that the tracking of pets was an error and would be removed. I couldn't come up with a concrete answer, so I started testing.
Over the course of a week, I can say with confidence, I can not track PC pets. I hunt with a few CH's, and their pets never show up -- under animal, people, or player. I believe this is as intended.
I can track NPC "pets." AKA, an AT-ST shows up under "animal" when it is part of a mission spawn, base, etc. However, I could not verify if I would be able to track a player's AT-ST. As a reb, I couldn't inspire any imperials to break out their pet for me to test (guess they thought I had a commando waiting somewhere
).
So here is my question to all of you -- am I just bugged? Are you guys still able to track Fido and Fluffy?
Rescue
I've seen a lot of questions floating around on this one, so I figured it might be a good thing to add to the FAQ. One problem though -- I can't get it to work for me! I see myself animating... but it doesn't seem to do much. Trying to get a peer to "peace" out is a bit difficult... we seem to get our timing off. I'm going to keep trying, as I'd like to use a ranger-only skill.
So here are my questions to all of you -- Should this go on the FAQ? If so, does it work against factional npcs? Duels? Or just critters? I realize we might be a little nervous about rescue, recalling the temper flairs over the PvP use not so long ago -- but that has been fixed.
Any help, feedback, or response would be appreciated.
Thanks,
