Thread: What if???
What if you went out and killed critters and harvested them?
What if you had all that neat stuff you mentioned and you busted your azz to earn it?
What if you think crafting anything outside of what you use to harvest is for weenies?
Then son, you area Ranger.
Accept nothing less. You wanna be a merchant, may the path be swift. You want to be an artisan, befriend a Ranger to get you resources.

Agreed.
My buddy, the crafter, is constantly trying to "help" me by trying to figure out how I can craft camps and traps and camo kits for other people to make money.
I keep telling him to knock it off. I make what I need... I KILL what OTHER people need. If I wanted to do anything else, I wouldn't be a Ranger.
Aye, as much as I like the crafting system and think that I would like being a crafter, I didn't become a ranger to be a artisan I did it so to to play a character that as some independence that other classes don't. By theory I should be the best creature hunter in the game if I augment it with some combat profession(s). I hunt, I harvest, I sell it to the artisans/medics.
If Ranger becomes a nature artisan I would probably drop it and then just buy from people who are rangers so that I could just get all the nifty little tricks and have two combat professions! Heck then I would be a better creature hunter then said Artisan ranger.
I think our professions is meant to be out their in the group leader the hunt, if their is a squadleader he can direct the group in tactics and formation I lead the hunt and provide the platform to keep the group sustained in the wild.

That's the proper ranger spirit.
That's how I feel, I was just curious t osee if most of us felt that way. There have been a few threads discussing the inability of the Ranger to bring in large amounts of money, which i could not believe any "true" Ranger would be concerned with. More power to us, we are here because we like the profession, not for what the profession can do for us.
