some things I have done...

  • Trade Forums

  • Figure out who owns a particular vendor

  • Profession forums (Chef,Doc,Medic,BE,Armourer,Architect)

  • Bazaar (someone buys there, they e-mail for more... make your price cheaper then market but not too cheep)

Usually the Bazaar was my biggest "secret weapon", if they come to you it's morecongenial then you pestering them. I have progressed from that, however. I have gleaned a list of vendors I usually work with from that Bazaar list. (note: Bazaar list, not bazaar list, you sick freaks ). Personally I got all the customers I can handle right now.

And one more thing, focus in the best resource atm, you may have to turn away people that want really "odd" stuff. It helps to have an inventory to start with and make deliveries as you go. You might want to keep your customer updated on your progress every few days as well. Discuss this with them up front, as they might have to get used to the fact that you just can't produce dependably like a miner can.
