My character is a Zabrak TKM/MP/Fencer with no Terrain Negotiation bonuses from any learned skill I possess.
Iknow the benefit of SEA's max at 25, but what confuses me is there seems to be no noticible difference in speed when using, say, +10 to Terrain Negotiation (TN). I timed a known distance and came up with virtually the same time every test when using a +9 Vibroaxe and a +1 SEA in an article of clothingI was wearing adding to +10. In the skills window this lists as: +0/+10 TN.
I've heard that unless you have the basecommand or abilityto modify you get no bonus from SEA's, but TN isn't really a command or ability. You don't learn Novice Scout and get it awarded to you unless it's something behind the scenes going on with the game I don't know about.
Regardless, I'd like to know if you'd need the full +25 effect to notice a TN improvement, or if it's just bugged and doesn't help you unless your character has a skill like Scout, Combat Medic, or Ranger that provides learned skill mods to TN.
I tried searching for this in the forum search, but much of the information is outdated, or off topic.
Thanks for any help.

TN doesnt make you navigate flat land any better, however, as you run up a hill... thats where you should notice the TN better.

I was under the impression that all skill tapes required the basic profession to use the tape skill. True? No?

No, because after I got this information regarding the improvement on running on slopes I tried it and with at least +10 it's very noticable. Much faster than without.
