Ok so Scarin said he would post this, but I dont think he has yet. This is an idea me and him thought up today. Now keep in mind it couldnt possibly be implemented today. This is an idea for when and if BH jedi bounty missions are fixed.

Oh and this is for Master Rangers.

This is kind of a waywe thought may both give us some uniqueness and more of a role in PvP.

What if we could apply camo to Jedi, making them undetectable to BH tracking droids? Basically when a BH deployed the droid it would come back either "Not Found" or only display the planet.

Conversely, other rangers can detect camo'd Jedi through the use of Area track.

The Jedi wouldnt be invisible to players whatsoever, so if the BH stumbled upon the camo'd Jedi, then lucky him. But this is a way for rangers such as the Antarian Rangers to help and serve Jedi like they are meant to. But it also gives non-rebel or Imperial Jedi something as well.

So here is the scenario - A jedi comes up on the BH terminals, and he enlists the protection of a Master Ranger. The Ranger applies the camo (still planet specific - none different than what we presently have). A Bounty Hunter deploys the droid and it comes back with "last known planet" - which would be the planet the Jedi is on (or possibly it lists the last known area, like a 5000m circle or whatever). The BH, in turn, hiresa Ranger ( the ISR? or other Imperial Ranger) to help him track down the location.

So there is the idea, I realize I am not the best at explaining, but I think you get the gist.

Comments? Suggestions? Songs of praise?

I think this sounds like a great idea, but...the majority of BH players don't like to hunt with anyone. I personally don't mind one bit, and would have loved the help before I became a Ranger myself, but I think the BH community as a whole has said they prefer to work alone. Maybe I'm wrong, but like I said, I think it's a great idea. Right now, only a handful of professions are involved in the GCW, and Rangers are not one of them...

Yea I hear ya. I guess this is a way to let us be apart of the GCW. And in my mind if the BH doesnt want our help they dont need it. They could wait for the camo to either wear off or get removed because of a creature detecting them.

Hey man, I think you did an excellent job of explaining the idea. I'm sorry I would have posted earlier but I was distracted by the Twins game, which we won by 1 run in the top of the 9th

Anyway I just wanna say the last thing I mean to do is suggest something that would hurt Bounty Hunters. We don't like it when they ask for things that step on our toes, and I don't want to step on theirs. They certainly need some dev attention, just like we do, especially in the case of player Jedi missions.

This is just and idea Sven and I came up with while we were talking about how to make the Antarian Rangers work, according to lore, in game. The Jedi camo idea was the closest thing we could come up with, and I think its a pretty good idea. In most cases a Bounty Hunter should be able to hunt independently, this would only come into effect when a Jedi actually sought out the help of a Master Ranger (like someone from AR.) Thus giving Jedi an in-game way to hide and Rangers more interaction in the GCW.

The fun part comes when the Bounty Hunter asks for the help of another Ranger (probably an imperial baddie like myself) to tag along and locate the Jedi using areatrack. That would allow Rangers from all sides to participate and pit a Ranger vs Ranger matchup... /evilgrin

I realize this would sometimes create a interdependency between BH's and Rangers that some may not like, but I don't think its too much to ask for.

P.S. I love my cat but while I was typing this he jumped on my keyboard and somehow deleted everything I had typed so far ( trisky little bastige ) So, I had to re-type this which was considerably hard to considering the amount of beer I've consumed.

You don't know when a BH will be tracking a jedi, so you don't know when you'd need to apply camo to a jedi.

"Stay around him at all times and keep him constantly camo'd" you say? Camo breaks if so much as a dragonfly should come near you, and breaks even faster on other people. Most BH's already dabble in ranger to pick up areatrack, so there's no big issue there. Personally, I'd rather take my chances fighting off the BH than try to gather ingredients for a dozenty-billion camo kits and keep them constantly applied to a jedi.

It's very late, so I probably missed the part where you explained what I just mentioned, making me come across as an ass. =/ It happens...often.

Now if it took -anyone- camo'd off the radar/map.....

I like the idea, but agree the BH's might not
