Thread: tracking idea
i was thinking (oh no!) and wouldn't it make sense that a ranger should be able to cover his or her tracks, so that they cannot be found by /area track?
sounds like a good idea to me! make it an ability gained with accompanying skill mods, and perhaps at the highest level a ranger can cover the tracks of his/her party. i think this skill should be in the wayfaring line, as opposed to the tracking line, since it deals with travel and concealment.
obviously, the only use of this would be pvp, and would only matter in a case where you were being tracked by another ranger. what really gave me this idea was the fact that tons of bounty hunters are picking up the tracking line so they can track people in pvp, and well, there's a heckovalot of bh's, and i think this would not only be a good check against that, but it would also give real rangers a usefulness in pvp ![]()
so, whaddya think?
"wouldn't it make sense that a ranger should be able to cover his or her tracks, so that they cannot be found by /area track?"
This idea has been suggested before.
But a skill mod solely for one purpose (evading /areatrack) doesn't strike me as very efficient.
It has also been suggested the skill could also be used to evade stalking creatures... But that functionalityis already handled by /maskscent and /conceal.
Anyone see another use for this new skill, in addition to evading /areatrack?
"AS long as the /conceal can take us out of the /areatrack"
Hey... That's a cool idea. ![]()

Should also remove us from the radar, until they target us. And perhaps they can make new markers, so we can see the diff between npcs and creatures on the radar.
Heres a better idea, Rangers can cover up their tracks from Stalking Creatures so they dont sit there and follow you forever lol
