OK so we all know that you can't turn off camo like you can mask scent. And you can't put on mask scent if you are camoed. Nothing new there, and I don't think it was a major issue, since it didn't raise a huge stink here. But here is a scenario where it is a problem.

But my human(eeww) companion was out on Yavin with me last night. I use Yavin camo on the group as we wandered about. No problem it was working good. After about an hour we finished what we were doing and break up. My friend was still camoed by me while he wandered around yavin some more, not really a problem. Buuuut when he went to Endor later on,(yes my camo lasts a really long time) he STILL had my Yavin camo.

So he was unable to mask scent to avoid the agros on Endor, and could not turn off the camo. Thusly he was getting agod a lot on Endor, because of my camo on Yavin.

Now this probably is not a huge occuring problem, but non the less more then what we thought before. And some people in our groups may not want us to camo them because of it, thusly making camo yet even further less desired. Can we maybe get this sent along to TH Calc?

So I am driving along on endor, and I get agro'd ... annoying but I figure it was an NPC mob like rarely occurs on endor and keep driving since I still have my "masked" icon up on my status bar....

Then it happens again, and I figure it was a visual spot that caused the agro since I drove right next to the mob when it popped on radar..

Then again and again and again.. and I think.. hmm, maskscent must be bugged, so I will reapply it.. and low and behold it wont let me..

Really **edit** annoying.. I am sure a bothans ears were burning after that... sigh..

The most annoying part was the camo refused to break.. it had to wear out.. I assume that is because it was applied but not active since I wasn't on yavin... once you leave the planet camo is for, it should automagically stop..

Wow, talk about a long time for conceal to work.

I haven't hit this problem, but then again, I rarely conceal anyone.

Camo should drop when you leave the planet tho, only makes sense.

yeah, teranus has nice camo skills.. he keeps claiming it has something to do with him being part dog, but I am not sure

I was probably camo'd about 30 minutes total, from when he must have ninja-camo'd me on yavin til when it finally wore out while on mission on endor...

This actually has been an issue that's been popping up off and on in both the Scout and Ranger Boards since March. Often times people report the inability to drop maskscent because "You cannot maskscent while concealed."

The only fix I've found so far is incap. If a player becomes incapped he usually is no longer mask scented or cammoed. Kind of a crappy fix I know... but still.

The other option is to simply remember to get the cammo dropped before leavin a given planet. Since I hardly ever remember to clone these days... I have a problem with this solution as well.

I also will try to find a reasonable fix sometime tomorrow. I had forgotten this was happening, been so long since I traveled from one challenge planet to another. Usually I waste a buff then call it quits.

A test to see if this is affecting you is to use /maskscent twice. If you get the "you cannot maskscent while concealed" error message then you are bugged. A fix that used to work was to use /maskscent followed by /conceal (while not targetting anything). This would turn off the conceal and let maskscent function normally again (and let you properly conceal again). I haven't tried it in a bit (as I haven't had much of a chance to play recently) but I expect that it still works. The main problem here is that you need the conceal skill to use the fix.

This is nice to have if you see someone you don't like waiting at a starport. *evil grin* Best bet with this is to make sure to find a kreetle or something to break it before leaving a planet. You should all know by now the best critters to find to break camo on each planet.

Or you could just use the command to turn it off. I personally just double check my maskscent whenever I start using it on a planet. Just to be safe (especially since kreetles can give me trouble).

Nemo0, it's not mask scent that is causing the problem, but /conceal. And it doesn't have a togle like maskscent. You can't "turn off" /conceal even the ranger that applies it can't. It either has to wear off, like Ariven's case, or it has to get broken. And if it's a really good /conceal with a high mod like mine, it might not get broken by anything but a kreetle. That's the solution. Everyplanet needs to have their version of kreetles.

A Ranger with the /conceal skill can turn off his own conceal. Just target nothing and use /conceal. It doesn't help your group but it does solve the problem for the Ranger. And it will fix the maskscent and conceal not working on a new planet even if you forget to do it before you leave the planet. What I meant by double checking my maskscent is that it lets you make sure that the conceal bug hasn't happened. If you can use /maskscent to turn off maskscent then conceal (and maskscent) will work fine. If you can't disable /maskscent using /maskscent then you are bugged (and can use /conceal with nothing targetted to fix it).
