The only Friday Feature I have ever looked forward to all week. And what do we get, the **edit**ing village write up that St. Gabe (the correspondent) adequately briefed us on already?. **edit** this game for real. Hey devs andDev mouthpiece (TH), stopsaying what u are going to do before u do it. Cuz when u don't deliver, people get upset.

I'm sorry. Calc please delete this post.

Tell me about it im not happy either. You can learn more and much quickly by reading StGabriels Guide, its nothing more that a short and unimaginative collection of stories.

BTW was the path the jedi suposed to be secret? I certainly got that impression after reading dev posts. Just seems to be this FF was a cast off where they couldnt get another one sorted out in time so decided to 'copy/paste' and rename Stgabriel's Guide onto the main site.

Some of these features are getting real week these days, its disapointing because i used to look forward to them alot, now its more like... "oh....... erm....... thanks".

Come on devs put some effort in and give us some info we actually want, not something that can be found after 5 minutes looking on the forums.

Thortac,

We can't stop anyone who wants to be FS or a jedi remember? They had focus groups and fanbois that told them they wanted X-Wing's and Jedis and they wanted them now! And since 50% of the people in the poll said they wanted it to be known and not mysterious. It was decided that was a majority and to make it known. Otherwise how do we test it?

I'm in post-rant mode now. Ante Rantum? Rantada? Ok, mumbling...

Anyhow, I think, after a fashin, they have almost got it right, sort of. For some values of almost and right.

IF you are master of a combat skill, or have a good choise of combat skills sub-master, you stand a chance of being able to cope. Yes, it's going to be a hideously long grind, and grinding is bad, m'kai? Especially the mindless hack and slay variety.

Was nearly crying here today seeing a squad of Master Swords annihilate a crowd of rancor and hten just run off to the next pack. Not one of them could harvest.. all that meat.. all that hide... all that XP!!!

But, if you're non combat, or just learning, you are going to have a heck of a hard time.

Which I suppose means that FS characters will need the protection of stronger more capable fighters, the jedi won't be able to run round in their jimjams so much, as they'll have BH AND Sith out looking for them.

And we'll have FS crafters, hunters, doodads and geegaws. Some of whom will be wanting to get to be jedi one day, others will be more 'pshaaaw, I just like being able to drive my speeder fast without so much damage.."

Right, that's me done my 'positive thinking' bit for today. Back to the grinch

Probably 15% of the SWG community don't want to become a jedi, with that, they would want jedi's to be little known as possible. Another 15% want the challenge of becoming a jedi, so less known is better for their gaming experiance. 5% don't want jedi's to exist in the game. Another 15% are jedi's and now want them to take opening out of the game, or make it as hard to become one =P. There's your 50%. (Yes I am making up these numbers but tthey seem reasonable to me =P)

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Thats cool, i was asking a genuine question on that, i never saw the results ofthe pole. However the fact still remains 99% of the TC forum members, almost all the jtl forum members were unhappy with this featurebecause frankly StGabriels guide did a better job in a quicker time.

If you want info on TC changes such as the jedi upcoming changes, take 2 minutes to find the sticky guide on the TC forums and there you have it, you know all there is up to the FS gains as it currently is on TC. For the majority of people this feature was weak because it told us nothing new and the time could of been used to answer some vital questions on the combat balance, JTL, profession roles and plans for the future.

The patch due date is the 28th i believe which is over a week away, why not make it the friday feature 1 day before it goes live instead of when everyone is wanting CB/JTL info?

Sure its cool to have an 'official' guide but it wasnt needed, basically a cut and paste of StGabriels but missing the important stuff. All in all it was very disapointing and a let down for a friday feature myself and many others were looking forward to for once.

I do agree that the costs for non combat FS climbing is far to long compared to the combat aproach, that needs to change. However if you are just learning a combat skill, i dont think you should have the full benefits a master has at getting jedi. Jedi is an end game/elder profession, those who are not masters of combat professions should have either a hard time getting jedi or level up to start getting jedi.

This isnt me trying to limit what people get jedi or anything, its just people who are not in the end game shouldnt realy be looking to get jedi at the same pace as masters. It just isnt how the system is suposed to work and ever has. Its not an equal oportunity system, it does play to the powergamers/game elders and i think thats fine. We can go ahead and enjoy our force progression as we hunt and learn as we go, it doesnt effect us much now the scout conversion rate has been changed.
