Hey! i am gringind scout/ 2h swords at the same time, i got novice ranger yesterday. I plan on getting master ranger and would like to know both at what lvl swords can i solo ERs( i am 2-2-0-2) and what lines to go up in ranger first, what camps get the best xp when crafting, what traps are best, and any other helpful hints. Thank you all in advance.

ahh... good to have another excited ranger join the ranks... only a few more and we'll have an even split with the grumpy rangers... or perhaps i'm just viewing that wrong... it could be the adjective of choice in your post was "new"... in which case the others are "old"... maybe the excite turns to grump with the capping of scouting xp... eh, i digress...
swordsman - can't really tell you if you're ready for the rancors yet, but i do know that your "area attack 2" will decimate most lairs and their creatures... if you want to "grind," get buffs and kill whatever you can... if not rancors, then pikets on dantooine should do fine...
ranger - always craft the highest level of camp you can... each one progressively uses more metal, which cuts down on the amount of hide/bone you chew through for a percentage of your xp gain... ie. it's more efficient, as metal is easier to come by.. besides, if you have stockpiled a lot of bone/hide you can opt to harvest meat as you work up scouting xp (i hear there is higher profit in meat... but i rarely sell)...
it doesn't sound like you're the typical "grinder," which is a good thing in these parts... regardless, a good bit of info for getting the ranger skills quickly can be found in Nemo0's Grinding Guide... you might wanna check that out, it may have some good tips...

completely forgot:
since only two of the lines use the same xp, you can pretty much go up all of them at the same time without any real trouble... the only choice you really have to make is: wayfaring or tracking... as you are a meleer who has already mastered scout, i would suggest tracking first - gives you a harvest bonus and the ability /areatrack... all wayfaring can offer you is the ability to /conceal others (until master, you won't have dathomir camo... and /maskwill functionbetter for you anyway), since the TN bonuses only apply to prone movement...
as for the other two lines... just buy them as you earn them...
the second time i did trapping, i only got the first box for /rescue (i'm a wook and i just like doing it, many other folks call it /suicide) and left the rest to be ground out when i was ready to purchase the master box... this added probably a day's time before i could master (probably only hours really), but i didn't mind so much...

I would personally, and did, go up wayfaring 3 to get dantooine camo kit, (thus you have all the camo kits most people go to, your only missing lok, endor, and dathomir)then switched to tracking. You get scouting xp when you /conceal others. Racks up the xp. then coupled with harvesting you fly up the remaining 5 boxes for scouting xp.

I smell fresh blood... ooh new ranger... welcome, come on in, sit down...
heh heh
Always nice to eat^ meet newcomers.
And don't worry, the grumpy rangers will just increase their grump factor a little to compensate for your enthusiasm!

tracking 1 is ranger 0001 =). wayfaring - frontiering - tracking - trapping
I believe for rancors you would need 4 or master ranger for them to be effective (effective as in they land and can be worth that 2 second loss it takes to throw and land while you could be hitting them or using special combat status effect specials, instead)
